THE FAMILY LIFE OF AN EVANGELIST
1.
Who is
an evangelist? A person who tries to persuade people to become a Christian,
especially by travelling around the cities, country holding religious meetings
or speaking to individuals, on radio or television.
2.
What
do we mean by Family Life?

How
does his home or family look like?
·
The
set up of his family, Polygamy or Monogamy
·
His
relationship with his family members and people around him.
·
How
does he live i.e. alone or always on the road or on the field among his family
members
·
God,
Man, His relations (extended family & nuclear family).

God’s
expectation of his family life. 1 Timothy 3:1-13; 4:12-16.

Without
fault
·
Have
only one wife
·
Be
sober
·
Self
control
·
Orderly
·
Must
welcome strangers in his house
·
Able
to teach
·
Must
not be a drunkard
·
Must
not be a violent man
·
Gentle
·
Peaceful
·
Must
not love money

Must
be able to manage his own family well
·
Make
his children obey him with all respect and manage them.
·
Mature
in faith
·
Should
be respected by the people
·
Have a
good character
·
Must
not be given to wine
·
Must
not be greedy for money
·
They
should be tested and found passed before they can serve
·
They
also must be of good character and must not gossip
·
They
must be honest wives
·
Able
to speak boldly about their faith
·
Involve
their family members in evangelism
·
Win
his household for Christ among others.

Live a
life like the disciple lived in Antioch (little Christ).

A
sacrificial life (ready to give).
5.
His
family expectation.

Love
in all areas of their lives.
