Murmuring And Delay: Lessons from the Israelites

Image
*_Murmuring and Delay: Lessons from the Israelites_* The Bible teaches us that there is incredible power of our words. We need to keep in mind that our own mouths can either unlock or block the blessings and promises that God has prepared for us. Proverbs 18:2 points out: *"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit."** Our words have the extraordinary capacity to shape our lives and the lives of those around us. It is crucial to recognize that murmuring and complaining not only reflect a lack of gratitude but also hinder God's blessings from flowing into our lives. The Israelites' journey through the wilderness provides a solemn example of the consequences of murmuring and complaining. Numbers 14:29 reveals the chilling reality: *"'The carcasses of you who have complained against Me shall fall in this wilderness, all of you who were numbered, according to your entire number, from twenty years old and above.'...

Spiritual Discernment: Understanding the Enemy's Tactics

Image
*_Spiritual Discernment: Understanding the Enemy’s Tactics_* Ephesians 6:12 reminds us of a critical truth about our Christian journey: *"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."* This verse sheds light on the invisible forces of darkness that are actively working against us. It is foolish for Christians to remain ignorant of these spiritual battles, as these forces are often more active and influential than we realize. One way the power of darkness manifests is through disruptions on Sunday mornings before church. Many families experience unexpected fights and unrest during this time. A spiritually dull person might continue to argue with their spouse, not realizing that these quarrels are strategic attacks meant to disrupt peace and hinder their worship. James 4:1-2 warns us, *"Where do wars and fights come f...

Restoring Our Relationship With God: Lessons from 2 Chronicles 7:14

Image
*_Restoring Our Relationship with God: Lessons from 2 Chronicles 7:14_* In 2 Chronicles 7:14, God lays out a clear path for restoring our damaged relationship with Him: *"If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."* This verse reveals the order required from our part to repair the broken bond caused by sin. Sin damages our relationship with God, creating a barrier between us and our Creator. As believers, we are called to hate the sin we once loved, recognizing that it was our sin that caused the Savior to bleed and die for us. First, we must humble ourselves. Pride is a significant obstacle to repentance. The proud see no need to repent because they do not believe they are wrong. Proverbs 16:18 warns, *"Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall."* Without humility, there can be no res...

Pray the Word, Speak the Word

Image
PRAY THE WORD,SPEAK THE WORD!  Jesus said, "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19) As a child of God, your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost (1 Corinthians 6:19), which means your body isn’t yours; its owned by God!  However, you are the one to keep watch over your body and keep it in health!  You are the one to exercise authority over your body, keeping it free of sickness or disease!  You are not ordinary, and have the right to tell your body how it should feel! Tell your body what to do, and it will respond! Jesus said, "you shall have what you say (Mark 11:23)"  Don’t permit in your body anything that isn’t consistent with God’s word for your life; take charge and rule over your body!  When you perceive the symptoms of sickness in your body, reject them!  They only become real when you say they are! Your words aren’t empty; wha...

Trusting in Divine Strength: The Importance of Praying First

Image
*_Trusting in Divine Strength: The Importance of Praying First_* The concept of letting God fight our battles is a profound truth that requires both faith and action on our part. This action begins with prayer. As believers, it is essential that we cultivate a habit of praying first before embarking on any endeavor, facing any challenge, or making any decision. Prayer is not just a ritual; it is our direct line to the Almighty, our source of strength and wisdom. The Bible repeatedly emphasizes the importance of seeking God in prayer. One of the most powerful reminders of God fighting for us is found in Exodus 14:14: *"The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace."* Here, we see the Israelites at the brink of the Red Sea, pursued by the Egyptian army. In their moment of fear and uncertainty, Moses urged them to trust in God’s deliverance. This deliverance was activated through their faith and Moses' prayerful leadership. Similarly, King Jehoshaphat faced a ...

Encouragement in Adversity: The Assurance of God's Presence and Power

Image
*_Encouragement in Adversity: The Assurance of God's Presence and Power_* The words of 2 Timothy 4:17 remind us of the unwavering support and strength we receive from the Lord in times of trial and difficulty. As believers, we can take comfort in knowing that the Lord stands with us, ready to strengthen and empower us for every challenge we face. *"But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Also I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion."* (2 Tim 4:17). These words penned by the apostle Paul reflect a profound truth—that in the midst of adversity, God's presence is our source of courage and endurance. Throughout Scripture, we find numerous examples of God's faithfulness in strengthening His people. *"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand....

The Blessing of Contentment: Finding Great Gain in Godliness

Image
*_The Blessing of Contentment: Finding Great Gain in Godliness_* *"Now godliness with contentment is great gain."* (1 Tim 6:6). The apostle Paul teaches us that true wealth and gain come from cultivating a life of godliness and contentment. In a world obsessed with material possessions and worldly success, the pursuit of godliness and contentment sets us apart as followers of Christ. Contentment is rooted in the understanding that our earthly possessions are temporary and fleeting. *"For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out."* (1 Timothy 6:7). As we reflect on this truth, we are reminded that our true treasure lies in our relationship with God and the eternal blessings He bestows upon us. Jesus Himself emphasized the importance of seeking heavenly treasures over earthly riches. *"But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal."* (Mat...

Husband is from Above

Image
*HUSBAND IS FROM ABOVE* In recent period I have spoken to quite several church ladies about being single and searching, if there is one thing I can pick from all of them is "Mama, I need to change church, maybe someone might notice me elsewhere. Hmmm, I have once had this thought also This is my story, I pray someone will learn something from it. I am a church girl to the core both when I was single and now, no outing, not visiting friends, no party, asin, nothing social about me, all I do is school, work, market and church, that's my life circle till this moment and I am so much loving it, I am 100 per cent Church addicted lady. But It was a little frustrating when I was believing God for a life partner, I never met anyone new at that time, aside from my church brothers, all I saw then was the old faces of brothers in church (since Church was the only place we go frequently ) and to think that those brothers were just dancing around us then, leaving us (the sisters) thinkin...

Hindrance to Prayer: Understanding God's Will and Repentance

Image
*_Hindrances to Prayer: Understanding God's Will and Repentance_* Prayer is a sacred avenue through which we commune with our Heavenly Father, yet there are important truths to understand regarding the effectiveness of our prayers. Particularly, how sin can hinder our prayers and how repentance restores our connection with God. One common misconception is that God will grant us anything we ask without consideration of His will. *"Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us."* (1 John 5:14). God answers prayers that align with His perfect will and purposes, not simply based on our desires or beliefs. Scripture reminds us that sin can create a barrier between us and God, hindering the effectiveness of our prayers. *"Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His f...

You Are A Chosen Generation - 1 Peter 2:9

Image
“You Are A Chosen Generation* ” (1 Peter 2:9)? In 1 Peter 2:9, the apostle Peter describes believers in Jesus Christ with these remarkable words: “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (NKJV). Other translations render the expression chosen generation as “chosen people” (NIV) or “chosen race” (NASB). Is the phrase you are a chosen generation speaking of predestination and election—God’s predetermination of who will be saved—or does it mean something else? In this passage, Peter weaves in Old Testament Scripture to define some of the extraordinary spiritual riches that Christians possess in Jesus Christ. He draws specifically from Isaiah 43:20–21, where God speaks of “my chosen people, the people whom I formed for myself that they might declare my praise” (ESV). Peter also borrows the exact words found in Exodus 19:6, in which God ...

Breakthrough in the Battle With Christ: ACall to Spiritual Warfare

Image
Breakthrough in the Battle with Christ: A Call to Spiritual Warfare Introduction: We are engaged in a spiritual battle against the forces of darkness. In this battle, we are not alone, for we have Christ as our Commander and our strength. Today, we gather to explore the keys to achieving breakthroughs in our spiritual warfare through our union with Christ. Let us dwell into Scripture and discover how we can advance with confidence, prayer, faith, and persistence, ultimately claiming victory in Christ. 1: Spiritual Preparation for Battle (Ephesians 6:11) Our advancement in the battle begins with spiritual preparation. Ephesians 6:11 instructs us to put on the full armor of God, equipping ourselves with truth, righteousness, faith, and salvation. As we prepare ourselves for spiritual warfare, we are empowered to stand firm against the schemes of the enemy and to advance in Christ's strength. 2: Breakthrough comes with Confidence in Victory in Christ: Romans 8:37 (Romans 8:37) Break...

What Does The Bible Says About Managing/Controlling Emotions

Image
*What Does The Bible Say About Managing/controlling Emotions?*  What would humans be like if we never became emotional, if we were capable of controlling emotions at all times? But God created us in His image, and God’s emotions are revealed in the Scriptures; therefore, God created us as emotional beings. We feel love, joy, happiness, guilt, anger, disappointment, fear, etc.  Sometimes our emotions are pleasant to experience and sometimes not. Sometimes our emotions are grounded in truth, and sometimes they are “false” in that they are based upon false premises.  For example, if we falsely believe that God is not in control of the circumstances of our lives, we may experience the emotions of fear or despair or anger based on that false belief. Regardless, emotions are powerful and real to the one feeling them. And emotions can be helpful indicators of what is going on in our hearts. That being said, it is important that we learn about managing emotions rather than...

The Eternal Investment: Building a Life of Christian Discipleship

Image
The Eternal Investment: Building a Life of Christian Discipleship Introduction: As followers of Christ, we are called to invest our lives in ways that honor God and build His kingdom. Just as wise investors carefully allocate their resources for long-term gain, we too must invest in our Christian walk to reap spiritual dividends. Today, we'll explore the various aspects of investment in Christian life, drawing wisdom from Scripture to guide us in our journey of discipleship. 1: Investing Time in Prayer and Communion with God (Philippians 4:6-7) Prayer is the cornerstone of our relationship with God. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us to present our requests to God with thanksgiving, and in return, experience His peace that surpasses all understanding. By investing time in prayer and communion with God, we cultivate intimacy with Him and align our hearts with His will. 2: Investing in Reading and Studying the Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17) God's Word is our spiritual nourishment an...

From Confession to Change: The Journey of True Repentance

Image
*_From Confession to Change: The Journey of True Repentance_* True repentance is a cornerstone of our Christian faith, but it is essential to understand that it goes beyond mere words of confession. Genuine repentance leads to a transformation of behavior and attitudes, reflecting a heartfelt turning away from sin and a sincere commitment to live according to God's will. The Scriptures remind us that true repentance is marked by a change in our actions. *"Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance."* (Matt 3:8). Repentance must produce tangible evidence in our lives, demonstrating a sincere and deliberate shift away from sinful patterns towards godly living. Simply confessing our sins is not enough; it must be accompanied by a genuine desire to change. *"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* (1 John 1:9). While God is gracious to forgive, true repentance means allowing His cleansing...

How to Feed Our Inner Man

Image
*How To Feed Our Inner Man*   ```*God's Knowledge is Food for the Inner Man*```  "Last week we talked about *who's inner man* " (Jere 3:15 NKJV) “And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.” In this Old Testament prophecy, God promises that he will supply true shepherds who will feed his people with his true knowledge. Obviously, knowledge does not feed our natural outer man; and because this Scripture passage cannot be untrue, we see that knowledge must be the food of the "inner" man. If we feed our inner man the right diet, and exercise him, he will grow. (1 Peter 2:2 NKJV) “As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby.” Even the “milk” of the word will enable you to grow. Obviously, for spiritual strength we need both spiritual food from God’s true knowledge, and we need some spiritual exercise. (1 Timo 4:7 MSG) “Exercise daily in God—no spiritual flabbiness, p...

Raising Children in Truth: The Danger of Superstition

Image
*_Raising Children in Truth: The Dangers of Superstition_* We, as Christians, are called to live according to the truth of God's Word and reject the falsehoods and superstitions of the world. One prevalent form of superstition that many people, including some Christians, get involved with is horoscopes and the belief that star signs determine behavior and character. This belief is not only unbiblical but also demonic. The Scriptures clearly warn us against engaging in such practices. *"There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer."* (Deu 18:10). Horoscopes and star signs fall under the category of interpreting omens and practicing divination, which God explicitly forbids. We must be vigilant and draw clear boundaries against such nonsense, as it can affect other areas of our lives. *"Abstain from every form of evil....

The Danger of a Defiant Spirit: Examining Christian Conduct

Image
*_The Danger of a Defiant Spirit: Examining Christian Conduct_* It is essential to recognize and guard against the spirit of contention and defiance that can creep into our lives, even among those who claim to be Christians. Through the Scriptures, we can understand the characteristics of such behavior, as well as the consequences of embracing it. The spirit of contention and defiance often manifests in individuals who desire to do things their own way, disregarding any form of authority. *"Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall."* (Pro 16:18). Pride leads to defiance, as individuals become resistant to correction and guidance. These individuals may claim to be Christians, yet their actions betray a desire to follow their own will rather than submit to God's authority. *"But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, dem...

Personal Walk with God

Image
PERSONAL WALK WITH GOD Luk. 9:23 When you choose to be personal with God, you are likely to walk alone with Him. The reason for a personal walk with God in life and ministry is purely about Jesus Christ alone. When you are walking with God on a personal level, don't allow those who could not walk again on a narrow way to distract you. Only those who can endure to the end shall be saved.  When I gave my life to Christ, God surrounded me with men and ministries that nurtured me unto maturity and pointed me to Christ and Him alone. God gave me a blueprint on how to walk with Him on a personal level. The truth is, that the blueprint is not popular, bogus, and seen by all men. Mockers came around but like Joseph, I did not allow them to exchange the divine blueprint with things that have no eternal value.  Some of my friends with whom we started the race together dropped their blueprint, vision, or dream for what makes them famous and acceptable but did not help them to walk...

What is the Inner Man

Image
*What Is The Inner Man* ? Paul uses the term inner man several times in his epistles (2 Corinthians 4:16; Ephesians 3:16). Romans 7:22–23 says, “For I joyfully concur with the law of God in the inner man, but I see a different law in the members of my body.” The “inner man” is another way of describing the spiritual aspect of a person. The “outer man,” by contrast, would be the visible, external aspect of a person. Human beings were created by God with a spirit, soul, and body (Genesis 1:27; 1 Thessalonians 5:23). It has been said that we are not bodies with souls; we are souls that have bodies. The body—the “outer man”—is our physical housing through which we experience the world. Our bodies function primarily through the five senses and by meeting innate needs that drive us to eat, drink, and sleep.  Our bodies are not evil but are gifts from God. He desires that we surrender those bodies as living sacrifices to Him (Romans 12:1–2). When we accept God’s gift of salvation t...

Remaining Separate: Resisting the Pull of Progressive Ideologies from the World

Image
*_Remaining Separate: Resisting the Pull of Progressive Ideologies from the World_* In recent times, the push to establish the so-called _"Woke ideology"_ has become more rampant, especially within the Western culture. This term is used to describe a progressive and socially conscious worldview that prioritizes social justice, equality, and inclusivity. However it also includes Climate change, Gender identity, Same-sex rights and advocating for LGBTQ+ rights, and the preferences of personal pronouns. As followers of Christ, we are called to navigate the currents of this world with discernment and wisdom, resisting the allure of worldly progressive ideologies that contradict the principles of God's kingdom. From a biblical standpoint, we must be cautious of the following aspects of this ideology: - *Climate change*: While we are called to be good stewards of God's creation (Genesis 1:28), we must not worship the earth or elevate it above our worship of God (Exodus 20...

Faith in Action: Believing Beyond What You See

Image
*_Faith in Action: Believing Beyond What You See_* Have you ever found yourself in a season where it seems like God's presence or activity is invisible to your eyes? In those moments of uncertainty, remember this: just because you can't see, does not mean that God is not at work in your life. The Bible reassures us of God's continuous and unseen work on our behalf. *"For we walk by faith, not by sight."* (2 Cor 5:7). Our journey as believers is characterized by faith—a deep trust in God's sovereignty and goodness, even when His workings are not readily apparent. Consider the story of Joseph in the Old Testament. Sold into slavery by his brothers and unjustly imprisoned, Joseph's circumstances seemed bleak and devoid of God's intervention. Yet, in the unseen background, God was orchestrating events to fulfill His purpose. *"But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save ...

The Hardest Part of Marriage You Won't be Told

Image
THE HARDEST PART OF MARRIAGE YOU WON'T BE TOLD:  Marriage is sweet when you examine it from afar, of those who have successful marriage or the lovey-dovey of newlyweds, but when you enter into, you will discover that what is behind number six is more than number seven.  Many prepare so well for the romantic aspects of marriage, but very few groom themselves for the realities in marriage. Do you know that the hardest part of marriage plays a dominant role in marriage than the romantic moments? However, what breaks marriage isn't the lack of romance, but the couple's inability to withstand the hardest part of marriage. There are some hard things about marriage that you are not likely to be told, but I will only share 5 of them with you. 1. Staying Faithful  It's easy to abstain from sex as singles if you have not tasted how sweet sex is, but it's very difficult to stay faithful in marriage when you are denied sex for no just reason. The temptation to commit adultery...

Step Out in Faith When God Nudges You

Image
*STEP OUT IN FAITH WHEN GOD NUDGES YOU*``` Have you ever felt God calling you to do something that is way outside of your comfort zone? So stepping out in faith when you don’t have all the answers is a big “NOPE, not for me, thanks though”. Or you jump fully in only to quickly realize you cannot control the outcome. Letting go of control isn’t easy. In fact, letting go and stepping out in faith is difficult and scary for most of us.  Yet, God doesn’t call us to take the easy road. He calls us to step out of our comfort zone and into faith at some point. God desires us to grow and mature our faith by helping us learn to trust and rely on him.  *What Does it Mean to Step Out in Faith*  Stepping out in faith means trusting God fully with whatever comes next. It means not necessarily knowing the next steps but knowing that God will guide and equip you to accomplish His will and purpose for your life. God knows the plans for your life. Oftentimes he will call us out of ...
