Consecration: Individual

Image
To consecrate is to set apart somebody/something for a special use or purpose especially for religious purpose. Today, we are praying for ourselves for personal consecration. Each one of us is specially/wonderfully made Psalms 139:14 and for a divine purpose and assignment. He has also created us for His pleasure – Revelations 4:11.   O Lord, consecrate me now to thy service by the power of grace divine. Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope and my will be lost in Thee. – Hymn   Sometimes – we say and sing: All to Jesus I surrender but how much of our will have we surrendered?       The Enemy’s Joker: – An extra playing card that is used in some card games, usually as a wild card   Today, as we come to the table of the Lord and having determined to yield our all to Him in full consecration, it is important that we guard against the enemy’s joker. Several people in the scripture had bitter experience of the enemy’s joker. ...

COURTSHIP AND MARRIAGE

Image
Introduction: Courtship is the period between the time a lady say yes to a man and the time of wedding. It is the time they get to know each other in preparation for marriage. As the choice of marriage is important, the period of courtship is equally important, if there is no good courtship, there cannot be a good marriage. Both of them must open their eyes wide and see clearly so that they can know whom they are marrying, his strength, weaknesses and sort comings. Nothing is too small, too great or sacred to discuss.   Things to be put in place: 1.         A lifestyle of honesty and sincerity of heart must be displayed. It is not for a child’s play. Gen 2:24. Every time they meet, it must be for serious business, no room for hide and seek game. Gal 6:7 2.       They have to prayerfully decide how long they want the courtship to be. 3.       The testimonies of their salvation must b...

He said in Gen 2:18 “And the Lord God said, it is not good that man should be alone , I will make him an help meet for him.” Part of the intention of God for instituting marriage was revealed in that verse. First to bring goodness, to remove loneliness and to provide adequate help for man. What joy and delight the creation of Eve brought to Adam! He exclaimed excitedly and joyfully in Gen 2:22-23. “This is now bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh. She shall be called woman because she was taken out of man”. Did you notice the word “ now ”, it is like saying “at last I have found my type, the kind that my soul desires, a companion, a confidant, someone with whom I can relate, a true helper! He named her “woman” – “womb-man.” Even the name he gave her suggested that he saw her as part of him. You could imagine how Adam felt that ...

COUNSELLING YOUNG PEOPLE ON THE BLESSEDNESS OF MARRIAGE

Image
Introduction: Counselling young people, male and female that are discussing why it is good or not good to marry. To make them see the good is marriage. I will let them know that marriage is a blessed thing even though their background from the experience seen around them may be painful and hurting. Marriage is a union of two imperfect people. I will let them know that marriage is a wonderful thing if things are done in the right way. Marriage is a blessing to the couple and all around them. In situation where the foundation is no based on Christ things will not work well. Furthermore, I will let them know that the blessedness of marriage can be seen in a Christian home. A Christian home begins when two people, a Christian man and a Christian woman, who love the Lord and each other, enter into a holy matrimony before God and man as husband and wife. This home continues as they live their life in the likeness and imitation of Christ. The book of Malachi 2:14 speak of the wife o...
