Clarity in Calling: Embracing God's Assignments Without Reservation

Image
*_Clarity in Calling: Embracing God's Assignments Without Reservation_* In the tapestry of God's kingdom, each individual is intricately woven with a unique purpose and calling. As we navigate the journey of life, it is essential to discern the assignments God has specifically placed on our hearts. Let us boldly say "Yes" without reservations to what God has called us to do and equally embrace the freedom to say "No" without guilt to what God has not assigned. Proverbs 19:21 reminds us of the significance of aligning our plans with God's purpose: *"There are many plans in a man’s heart, nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand."* God's counsel stands as the anchor for our decisions, leading us in the paths He has uniquely designed for us. Jeremiah 29:11 assures us of God's intentional plans for our lives: *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a futu...

Self-control in Speech: A Reflection of Spiritual Influence

Image
*_Self-Control in Speech: A Reflection of Spiritual Influence_* James 3:6 profoundly illustrates the immense power of the tongue: *"And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell."* Our words hold immense power, capable of either building up or tearing down, revealing what truly governs our hearts. Every word we speak unveils the inner state of our being, exposing what controls us. Galatians 5:22-23 reminds us of the fruit of the Spirit, among which is self-control: *"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law."* Out-of-control speech reveals a lack of submission to the Holy Spirit's guidance. When we speak inappropriately or at the wrong time, it’s a signal that something other than the Spirit is steering our word...

Beware of Deceptive Spirit: True About Visit from the Dead

Image
*_Beware of Deceptive Spirits: The Truth About Visits from the Dead_* Hebrews 9:27 warns us that *"it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment."* This truth is essential in understanding the deception surrounding the belief that spirits of the dead can come back to visit the living. The idea that departed spirits, such as deceased relatives, return to visit the living is a deception that has persisted over time. Yet, it's essential to recognize that these supposed manifestations are not the spirits of the departed loved ones but rather deceptive spirits—demons—masquerading as them. The Scriptures speak of encounters with such deceptive spirits. In 1 Samuel 28:7-20, King Saul sought a medium to summon the spirit of Samuel, a deceased prophet. However, what manifested was not Samuel's spirit but a demonic entity impersonating him. This incident highlights the danger of seeking communion with the dead. The purpose of these deceptive manifestations ...

What is Truth

Image
*_WHAT IS TRUTH?_* Truth is a concept that has been debated for centuries, and it’s no surprise that in today’s world, we often find ourselves confused about what truth really is. There are so many different ideas about what’s true and what’s not, and it can be hard to know what to believe. Moral relativism is a common idea that is thrown around, which says that what is true for one person may not be true for another. This can make it seem like there’s no truth that applies to everyone, which can be quite unsettling. *_So What Is Truth, Really?_* The Bible sheds some light on the question. When Jesus was talking to His believers, He described why truth is important because of what it can do for us. He said, “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32). When we know the truth, we are free from confusion, worry and fear. We are free to live our lives with purpose and meaning, knowing that we are following the path that God has set before us. *_But Wher...

How to Forgive Someone

Image
*_HOW TO FORGIVE SOMEONE_* It’s natural to feel bitter or develop a grudge when you are hurt by someone. As bitterness builds inside of you, it’s usually followed by a swarm of other emotions—feelings of anger, resentment and rejection accompanied by a desire for revenge. Toxic emotions don’t change your situation or the person that hurt you. As you let them take over, they do change you, hurting you far more than the other person. And it doesn’t stop there. When bitterness and resentment take control, they can spill over and infect others who aren’t even involved. This is why the Bible refers to bitterness as poison. “Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many” (Hebrews 12:15). If you aren’t careful, it can hurt you and those close to you. Ask yourself: Do you like being around someone who is bitter or angry? The Bible goes a step further and explains why it’s important to forgive, “Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words,...

Sharing the Gospel: Don't Cast Pearls Before Swine

Image
*_Sharing the Gospel: Don't Cast Pearls Before Swine_* As followers of Christ, we are called to share the Good News with the world, but it is essential that we do so with discernment and wisdom. In our efforts to evangelize, we often encounter individuals who are not open to the message of Christianity and are more interested in arguing and refuting our beliefs. In such situations, it is crucial to remember the value of discernment. Proverbs 26:4-5 provides a valuable principle: *"Do not answer a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like him. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes."* These verses emphasize the importance of discerning when to engage in arguments and when to refrain from doing so. Some individuals have made up their minds and are not genuinely seeking the truth; they only want to argue. We must ask ourselves: When was the last time we witnessed someone become a Christian after losing an argument? The truth is that ...

The Unshakable Power Within: Christ in Me

Image
*_The Unshakable Power Within: Christ in Me_* The power and presence of Christ within us grant us an unyielding strength that transcends the trials and tribulations of this world. When Christ lives within us, nothing can ultimately hinder us or break our spirit. Galatians 2:20 declares this profound truth: *"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."* This verse points out the transformative power of Christ's presence within us, shaping our identity and empowering us to face life's challenges. When we are rooted in Christ, trials cannot derail us, people cannot shatter our resolve, money cannot buy our faith, haters cannot silence the truth within us, and demons cannot defeat the power of Christ that resides in us. Romans 8:37 reinforces this truth: *"Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors ...

Faith That Endures: Holding unto God in Times of Persistent Sorrow

Image
*_Faith That Endures: Holding onto God in Times of Persistent Sorrow_* In the journey of life, there are moments when pain and sorrow linger, seemingly refusing to fade away. During such challenging times, the call to trust in the Lord becomes even more significant. Let us draw strength and encouragement from the timeless truths of God's Word. Psalm 34:18 assures us of God's nearness in times of distress: *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart and saves such as have a contrite spirit."* Even when pain seems overwhelming, God is close to us, ready to bring comfort and healing to our wounded hearts. Proverbs 3:5-6 provides timeless wisdom on trusting in the Lord: *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."* In the midst of sorrow, leaning on our understanding may lead to confusion, but trusting in the Lord brings clarity and guidance. Jesus Hi...

God's Promise of Strength: Finding Courage in Isaiah 41

Image
*_God's Promise of Strength: Finding Courage in Isaiah 41_* Isaiah 41:11-13 offers a profound promise of strength and support from the Almighty: *"Behold, all those who were incensed against you shall be ashamed and disgraced; they shall be as nothing, and those who strive with you shall perish. You shall seek them and not find them—those who contended with you. Those who war against you shall be as nothing, as a nonexistent thing. For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you.'"* In these verses, God assures His people that their adversaries will ultimately fade away, their enemies will be rendered powerless, and their struggles will come to naught. God pledges His presence, holding their right hand, promising His divine assistance in their times of need. His resounding declaration, *"Fear not, I will help you,"* reverberates with unparalleled comfort and reassurance. Psalm 46:1 reinforces this promise:...

Christ's Birth Offers Reconciliation to God

Image
*CHRIST'S BIRTH OFFERS RECONCILIATION TO GOD*   _*Receiving the Word*_  Bible Lesson:  John 1:1-18 Key Verses:  “And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father’s only son, full of grace and truth.” – John 1:14 The New Testament gives us accounts of the life and ministry of Jesus. Each of the Gospels paints a portrait of God in their story of Jesus. Matthew, Mark and Luke are so similar to one another they can be placed side by side and “seen together.” For this reason they are called the Synoptic Gospels. John, however paints a somewhat different portrait of Jesus and therefore of God. John does not include most of the stories about Jesus that are found in the Synoptics. In the Synoptics, Jesus performs miracles to help people in need. He refuses to do anything to prove his identity. In John, Jesus does miracles precisely to prove his identity. John refers to the deeds of Jesus as “signs” rather than mir...

The Infant Saviour, King Eternal: Celebrating Jesus at Christmas

Image
*_The Infant Savior, King Eternal: Celebrating Jesus at Christmas_* As we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, during this joyous Christmas season, let us reflect on the profound truth that the infant who came as our Savior is now also the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Isaiah 9:6 prophesied about the birth of Jesus: *"For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."* This Child born in Bethlehem is no ordinary child but the promised Messiah, the King who would reign forever. The birth of Jesus in the humblest of settings marked the beginning of His earthly journey as our Savior, but it was just the beginning. Philippians 2:9-11 reveals the exalted position He now holds: *"Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee shou...

The Gift of Christ: Celebrating Christmas With Purpose

Image
*_The Gift of Christ: Celebrating Christmas with Purpose_* It's crucial to remember and impart to our children the true essence of Christmas. It's not about Santa Claus, Christmas trees, or the exchange of presents. Christmas is about Jesus Christ. Luke 2:11 vividly proclaims the reason for our celebration: *"For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."* Christmas commemorates the birth of Jesus, the Savior of the world, the very reason we gather and celebrate this special occasion. Amidst the excitement of the season, it's essential to remind our children that Christmas is Jesus' birthday. It's not just any ordinary day; it's a time to celebrate the birth of the One who came to bring hope, love, and salvation to the world. When we pray in Jesus' name, we are invoking the name of the same Jesus whose birth we celebrate on Christmas. Matthew 1:21 reinforces this truth: *"And she will bring forth a ...

The Deep Significance of the Birth of Jesus Christ

Image
*THE DEEP SIGNIFICANCE OF THE BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST*  People all over the worldlp have heard the story of Jesus’ birth.  *_But have you ever wondered whether there’s more to the familiar story ⁉️_*  The Bible records the birth of Jesus in detail, so this event must be deeply meaningful. In this post, we’ll use verses and notes from the New Testament Recovery Version to take a closer look at Jesus’ birth. Catching even a glimpse of its significance will increase our love for Jesus and uplift our worship of Him.  *Prophesied in the Old Testament and fulfilled in the New Testament*  About seven hundred years before Christ, a prophecy concerning Jesus’ birth was recorded in the Old Testament. Isaiah 7:14 says: “Therefore The Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will conceive and will bear a son, and she will call his name Immanuel.” The New Testament opens with the account of Jesus’ birth. In the first chapter of Matthew, verse 18 tells us ho...

Who Made Me?

Image
*_WHO MADE ME?_* Take a look in the mirror. Believe it or not, the person looking back at you was created by God. As the Bible puts it, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him” (Genesis 1:27). That means you were formed and given life by the One who made the universe. You are God’s masterpiece, His handiwork, created as the one and only you. And not just created and forgotten about, but known for who you are: “O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar,” one Bible writer said in Psalm 139:1-2. Your identity doesn’t just lie within your appearance or accomplishments. Your true identity was given to you by the One who made you—just as your fingerprints are all over the things you do and create. And yet, each one of us is guilty of going against our Maker, deciding to go our own way instead of choosing His best for us. We have rejected the identity He gave us. That rebelli...

The Greatest Gift: Unwrapping the True Meaning of Christmas

Image
*_The Greatest Gift: Unwrapping the True Meaning of Christmas_* *"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."* ♡John 3:16♡ During this festive season, let's reflect on the magnitude of God's love expressed through the birth of Jesus Christ. Luke 2:11 declares, *"For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."* This marked the arrival of the greatest gift to humanity. The birth of Jesus was the ultimate act of love, fulfilling the promise of salvation. Isaiah 9:6 foretold His coming: *"For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."* Jesus came to redeem us, offering hope and eternal life. The significance of Christmas lies not only in the joyous celebration but in ...

Losing A Loved One

Image
LOSING A LOVED ONE You’re devastated. Maybe angry. And trying to make sense of it all. Why did this have to happen? Why now? What will life be like without the person you lost? It would be great if there was an easy explanation that would cover all situations and answer all questions. Unfortunately, we don’t always understand why things happen to us that seem so senseless or evil. The Bible talks about “the mystery of iniquity” (2 Thessalonians 2:7 KJV), suggesting there is a mystery to some of the things we experience, even when a loved one passes away. The loss of a child, parent or friend is very painful. God allows us to have a grieving process so we can cope with the pain. He knows your anguish, grief and anger. You hurt deeply, but be assured that God knows exactly how you feel. How do we know this? We know it because God’s only Son, Jesus Christ, also died. He suffered and died on a cross so you could be at peace with God. He understands your heartache and wants to surroun...

How To Be A Good Mom

Image
*_HOW TO BE A GOOD MOM_* Being a mother isn’t for the faint of heart. That’s why you sometimes wonder, “Am I a good mom?” It’s hard work and can be thankless work, but being a good mom is a good work. It’s worth the effort. The Bible is a book that has a lot to say about the value of parenting and even has some guidance on doing it. Consider these tips on how to be a good mom: 1. Love your children. And let them know you love them. Being a mom is hard and can be exhausting. Kids don’t understand the physical and emotional cost to provide, protect and care for them. In their innocence they take it for granted. But a good mom knows that real love involves sacrifice. Giving with no promise of return. The Bible says that there’s no greater love than laying down your life for another person (John 15:13). A good mom loves through it all. 2. Say “No.” Love your children enough to say “No” when they do wrong. Back it up with appropriate discipline (but not in anger). Be sure you and your...

Walking in the Light of the Lord in this End Time

Image
*WALKING IN THE LIGHT OF THE LORD IN THIS END TIME*  History is unfolding just like God said it would in the Bible. And what is happening in the world is confirmation that God's Holy Word, the Bible, is true. Every detail in the Bible is there for a reason. All scripture is perfectly fitted together, with no shifting shadow, giving us God's perfect truth. Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. John 17:17 Every good thing bestowed and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation, or shifting shadow. --- James 1:17 God has given a clear picture from scripture that in the last days, lawlessness and wickedness will increase and people's love will grow cold. (Matthew 24:12) Moreover, the Bible says that the last days will be the most difficult time in all history (Matthew 24:21, Daniel 12:1). This is sobering, but as followers of Jesus Christ, we also know that God is in control and every detail of the end ti...

Eternity Awaits; Choosing Our Final Destination

Image
*_Eternity Awaits: Choosing Our Final Destination_* The topic of eternity is both profound and solemn, for it speaks about the destiny of every soul beyond the bounds of this earthly existence. The truth is that there is life after death, and each one of us will exist eternally. Hebrews 9:27 reminds us: *"And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment."* Eternity is not a mere concept; it is a reality that awaits every soul. Beyond our physical lives, we will continue to exist, but where and how we spend eternity is of utmost importance. Scripture speaks clearly about the eternal destination of man. We will live forever, but our dwelling place will vary—either in the glorious presence of God or in separation from Him in eternal torment. Matthew 25:46 emphasizes this truth: *"And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."* The choice we make in this life determines our eternal destiny. In eternity,...

Raising Children To Reach Their God Intended Potential

Image
"RAISING CHILDREN TO REACH THEIR GOD-INTENDED POTENTIAL". We all want our children to reach their full potential, but this is only possible as we follow God’s plan. We need to see our children as the treasures and blessings they are and love them unconditionally. They need to be given to the Lord to fulfill His purpose for them. We need to give them a solid foundation on which to build their lives. That foundation is in teaching our children to obey the teachings in God’s Word and fear the Lord. We also need to mentor them in the knowledge of God and arrange opportunities for them to serve in a ministry suitable to their knowledge and maturity. Ephesians 6:4(ESV) 4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Matthew 7:24(ESV) “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The children of Israel were commanded by God to teach their childre...

Overcoming Emotional Withdrawal: Trusting God in Difficult Times

Image
*_Overcoming Emotional Withdrawal: Trusting God in Difficult Times_* In times of difficulty, it's not uncommon for individuals to emotionally withdraw from those around them. This behavior may manifest as a desire to isolate oneself, ignoring the care of others, neglecting responsibilities, or even displaying a lack of concern for anything or anyone. However, as believers, it's crucial to address such behaviors in light of our faith in God and His sovereignty. Proverbs 18:1 warns us: *"A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; he rages against all wise judgment."* Emotional withdrawal often stems from a desire to escape or avoid dealing with challenges, yet this behavior goes against the wisdom of seeking counsel and support from others. When we emotionally withdraw, we not only distance ourselves from others but also exhibit a lack of faith and trust in God. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us: *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own und...

God's Love for Us

Image
*GOD’S LOVE FOR US*  God’s love gives us a new understanding of what it means to love ourselves and others. God is love, so let’s explore how He tells us to love. Head What is Love? When you think of love, what is the first thing that pops into your head? Is it a sweet romance, family relationships, or the way you and your best friend always have each other’s backs? Do you think of things you love — like pizza, movies, or music? Does God’s love for us come to mind?  There are four different types of love described in the Bible: Eros: Romantic love between two people. Philia: Brotherly love (like you would find between best friends). Storge: Family love and affection (For example, your parents’ love toward you). Agape: Unconditional love. Agape describes God’s love for us. Ways God Shows His Love For Us Do you realize that God is a loving God? How do you see His love in your life? Take a few minutes and list at least three ways He shows you love. God has shown His love t...

What is Sin

Image
*_WHAT IS SIN?_* The best way to define sin is to compare it with something much more familiar—viruses. Most of us have experienced a cold or the flu. Both are fairly minor but viruses have caused large-scale outbreaks throughout history. We have seen examples of these even recently. Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) in 1981. Swine flu (H1N1) in 2009. COVID-19 in 2019. Each of these outbreaks caused illness and death across multiple continents and people groups. Sin is similar in that you can also point to past outbreaks. The first one happened soon after the earth was formed. When God finished creating the world, He said it was “very good.” There was no suffering, problems or evil. This was true until the first man (Adam) and woman (Eve) disobeyed God. In that moment, sin arrived and sparked a pandemic of sin. The Bible says, “When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned” (Romans 5:12). This outbreak of sin ...

Steadfast Faith: Flourishing Amidst Fear

Image
*_Steadfast Faith: Flourishing Amidst Fear_* In moments of distress or uncertainty, our faith is put to the test. James 1:6 reminds us, *"But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind."* When we allow doubt and fear to dictate our decisions, our faith wavers like a ship in a stormy sea. When faced with uncertainty or fear, it's natural to seek immediate solutions, even if they compromise our values. However, firm faith does not waver during turbulent times. It stands resolute, grounded in the unchanging character of our Lord. Consider the account of Aaron and the Israelites in Exodus 32:1-4. As Moses delayed, fear and panic swept over the people. They turned to Aaron, seeking a quick solution. Aaron, faced with their demands, didn't uphold his convictions and yielded to their pressure, crafting a golden calf for them to worship. This rash decision only led to disastrous consequences. Supposedly,...

Intimacy With God

Image
*INTIMACY WITH GOD*  Our God is a personal God who created us for Himself and is longing for an intimate relationship with us. He wants us to live in a sincere love relationship with Him (Matthew 22:37-38). We need to spend time alone with Him, enjoy fellowship with Him, communicate with Him, trust, and follow Him daily. Walking in a close relationship with God gives meaning and purpose to our lives. We often allow the busyness of ministry and life to replace a real, personal walk with God. But, our primary calling is for an intimate walk with Him. 👌What is our top priority in life and ministry? Developing Intimacy With God Do we desire a deeper and closer relationship with God (Psalm 63:1-8)? Do you know that prayer, fasting and meditating on His Word are very important parts of our walk with Him?   Our souls will never experience satisfaction until we discover the joy of devotion (Psalm 63:5). David’s passion even had a physical element to it: “My flesh yearns f...

Preserving Harmony in Christ

Image
*_Preserving Harmony in Christ_* *"But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!"* ~Galatians 5:15 This cautionary verse prompts us to reflect on the consequences of internal strife and division within the body of believers. 1 Corinthians 1:10 encourages unity, *"Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment."* God desires His children to stand united, expressing the same love and purpose. As Christians, we are called to cultivate an environment of mutual love and understanding. Ephesians 4:3 emphasizes this, *"endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."* Striving for unity is an active effort to maintain the spiritual harmony bestowed by the Holy Spirit. Destructive behaviors such as gossip, envy, and contention...

What is the Spiritual Meaning of Humility

Image
*What is the Spiritual Meaning of Humility?* Humility in the Bible is mentioned in Proverbs 22:4 (NIV). This Bible verse tells us the definition of humility distinctly and definitively: Humility is the fear of the Lord; its wages are riches and honor and life.  Fear of the Lord isn’t referring to being scared of the Lord, but rather remembering that God alone is all-powerful. It’s acknowledging that only God deserves all glory and honor.  Fear of the Lord reminds us that we should not hold ourselves in the same light or position that God righteously deserves. *What Does the Bible Say About Humility?* Ultimately, Jesus is the perfect example of humility. But these Bible verses about humility help us to cultivate this virtue in ourselves so that we can become more like Jesus. James 4:10 (NIV) Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. Luke 14:11 (NIV) For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. Romans 12:3...
