Faith in Action: Living a Dynamic and Adventurous Life

Image
*_Faith in Action: Living a Dynamic and Adventurous Life_* The life of faith is not meant to be dull, suffocating, or restrictive. On the contrary, it is meant to be active, dynamic, and adventurous—an exhilarating journey filled with divine encounters and unexpected blessings. We can think of faith as a bike with large, sturdy wheels. As with most bikes, this one only works when you climb on and start pedaling. In other words, you have to do something with the faith you’ve been given if you want it to take you where God is leading. Scripture tells us that faith is not passive but active. *"Stand firm in the faith, be courageous, be strong"* (1 Cor 16:13). We are called to *"live by faith, not by sight"* (2 Cor 5:7), to *"receive by faith"* (Gal 3:14), to *"continue in the faith"* (Col 1:23), to *"contend for the faith"* (Jude 1:3), and to *"put on faith"* (1 Thes 5:8), among other exhortations. In order to be the kind of pe...

Covenants of God

Image
*Covenants of God* Gen 6:5-6 _Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart._      When God created Adam and Eve, He gave them the free will to choose. But Adam and Eve chose to disobey God in the garden of Eden, and since then men started to become more and more wicked until God destroyed the earth with the deluge. The descendants of the righteous Noah did not take long to become wicked again, until God had to make the covenant with the descendants of Jacob with the Ten Commandments written on stone tablets. Deu 5:2 _"The LORD our God made a covenant with us in Horeb."_ *Old Testament Covenant* In the OT, the Temple of God was built in order that the Israelites can observe Moses Laws (Judaism) to fulfill their part of the covenant (esp. sacrifices and Jewish feasts). Counting the Cost: Embracing the Call to Relationship with God

Image
*_Counting the Cost: Embracing the Call to Relationship with God_* Our relationship with God is not to be taken lightly. It requires us to count the cost and make a deliberate commitment to live in accordance with His will and His Word. This means we cannot continue to live as we please, indulging in sin and expecting God to welcome us with open arms. *"For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it—lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him"* (Luke 14:28-29). Just as a builder counts the cost before constructing a tower, we must consider the implications of our relationship with God. It demands a change in lifestyle—a turning away from sin and a commitment to holiness. As Christians, we are called to say "Yes" and "No" to certain things in life. *"Therefore 'Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lor...

Biblical Principles for Wealth Management

Image
*_Street Smart with Your Finances: Biblical Principles for Wealth Management_* Jesus was never shy about addressing the topic of money. He spoke openly and trenchantly about the pursuit and possession of wealth, highlighting both its potential pitfalls and positive uses. One of His teachings, often referred to as the parable of the dishonest manager, challenges us to consider the importance of being street smart with our finances. *"And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail, they may receive you into an everlasting home"* (Luke 16:9). In this intriguing parable, Jesus uses the story of a dishonest manager to illustrate the importance of shrewd financial stewardship. While He does not endorse the manager's dishonesty, He does emphasize the manager's astuteness in using money to secure his future. Jesus mourns the fact that His disciples often lack wisdom in handling their finances for eternal impact. *"For the sons o...

Saving Grace of God

Image
Saving Grace of God Tit 2:11-13  _For *the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men*, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,_     The grace of God is given freely to all men so that whosoever responses to His grace will be saved. Whoever believes the everlasting gospel *will be saved* for God is faithful in keeping His part of the covenant. If anyone claims that he is a born again Christian but still is unable to deny ungodliness, worldly lust, etc. nor to live soberly nor righteously, then he may be unsaved in the first place. John 3:16  _"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that *whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life*."_ Eph 2:8  _For *by grace you have been saved through faith,* and that not of yourselv...

Trusting God's Masterful Hand

Image
Trusting God's Masterful Hand Every moment in life, whether filled with joy or marred by brokenness, unfolds precisely as God plans. It's a profound truth that can bring both comfort and confusion, yet Proverbs 16:9 reassures us: *"A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps."* Every twist and turn in our lives is guided by the sovereign hand of God, who knows the intricate details of our journey. Jeremiah 29:11 affirms God's purposeful design: *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."* Even in the midst of what seems broken or beyond repair, God's ultimate plan is one of hope and restoration. Life's unpredictability might leave us questioning, but Romans 8:28 reminds us: *"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."* Even the broken pieces of ...

The Holy Spirit: Our Seal and Source of Strength

Image
*_The Holy Spirit: Our Seal and Source of Strength_* The plea, *"Take not Your Holy Spirit from me,"* uttered by King David in Psalm 51:11, echoes through the ages as a heartfelt cry for God's abiding presence in our lives. David understood the profound significance of the Holy Spirit and the consequences of its withdrawal. In the pages of Scripture, we find the story of King Saul, whose tragic downfall serves as a sobering example. Saul was anointed as king, and the Spirit of God rested upon him. However, through disobedience and pride, Saul grieved the Holy Spirit, ultimately leading to its departure from him. The consequences of this separation were profound—Saul faced despair, depression, and a tragic end. This account underscores the importance of cherishing and nurturing the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. The Holy Spirit is not a distant force; it is the very presence of God dwelling within believers. It offers us guidance, comfort, and strength in our ...

What is the Greatest Commandments Question?

Image
*HOW AM I APPLYING THE GREATEST COMMANDMENTS IN MY DAILY LIFE ⁉️*   _What Is The Greatest Commandments question❓_    Jesus was asked this very question by a Pharisee who was considered to be “an expert in the law” (Matthew 22:34–36). Jesus answered by saying, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important commandment. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commandments” (Matthew 22:37–40). Jesus gives us two commandments that summarize all the laws and commands in Scripture. The Ten Commandments in Exodus 20 deal with our relationship with God and then our relationship with other people. One naturally flows out of the other. Without a right relationship with God, our relationships with others will not be right, either. The cause of the world’s problems is that man needs to be reconciled to God. We will never love ou...

Saved through Faith

Image
*Saved through Faith*            Both the New and Old Testaments are covenants, which require at least two parties. Eph 2:8-9 _For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast._     It is by the grace of God that we are saved. This *grace* is the unconditional forgiveness of sins freely given to all mankind by God.     But in order that our sins are forgiven (salvation), we must have faith in God. So     *Salvation = Grace + Faith* *Note* - Faith is the response of their belief in the Grace given by God.     Though grace is given freely to all men, yet only Christians who responded by having, expressing or displaying their faith in God's grace receive salvation.  _*Not of Works*_     Many try to appease God by sacrifices, offerings and doing charities, etc. hoping that these good works can save them. To...

Fully Immersed: A Call to Wholehearted Devotion

Image
*_Fully Immersed: A Call to Wholehearted Devotion_* There is a profound desire that resides within our hearts – a longing to be utterly lost in the depths of God's ways, to plunge into His mysteries without hesitation, and to immerse ourselves in His divine presence. This desire signifies a wholehearted trust, a fearless surrender to the vastness of God's love and wisdom. Proverbs 3:5-6 guides us: *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."* God desires His children to trust Him completely, to jump into His ways with both feet, acknowledging His sovereignty over every aspect of our lives. Jeremiah 29:13 reveals God's longing for us: *"And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart."* God yearns for a wholehearted pursuit of Him, an unreserved seeking that leads us to the depths of His presence and wisdom. In the pursuit o...

The Kingdom of God in Your Life

Image
*The Kingdom of God in Your Life*  Knowing Jesus as your Savior is critical. It means Jesus has forgiven you and your name is written in the Book of Life. But is He also your Lord? The early Christian believers’ proclamation was “Jesus is Lord,” and it was one of the primary reasons they were persecuted and often killed. Are you proclaiming “Jesus is Lord” over your life? Perhaps you haven’t completely realized the implications of that statement. If you have taken Jesus as your Lord, then He’s Lord of everything; your time, your money, your family, your marriage, your sex life, your work life, your leisure, your entertainment, your physical lifestyle (food, rest, exercise, etc.), your thinking, your emotions, your ministry, your future, everything.  If there is some aspect of your life where things aren’t going well, you might ask, “Am I trying to remain the lord of this part of my life? Have I truly made Jesus my Lord in this area?” Distorted and toxic religion has tri...

Defending Your Family: The Importance of Walking in the Spirit

Image
*_Defending Your Family: The Importance of Walking in the Spirit_* As parents, you hold a sacred responsibility to lead and nurture your family in the ways of the Lord. You are the first line of defense against the influence of the world, the deceitfulness of sin, and the snares of the enemy. Therefore, it is imperative that you walk in the Spirit, especially if you desire to lead your family in righteousness. *"For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit"* (Rom 8:5). Walking in the Spirit means aligning your thoughts, actions, and priorities with the will of God. It involves seeking His guidance and relying on His strength to navigate the challenges of life and parenthood. *"Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you"* (James 4:7). As parents, you are engaged in a spiritual battle for the hearts and souls of your children. When y...

The Art of Silence: Finding Wisdom in Words

Image
*_The Art of Silence: Finding Wisdom in Words_* *"In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise"* ~Proverbs 10:19 This proverb serves as a timeless reminder of the importance of exercising restraint in our speech. In a world filled with noise and chatter, wisdom is found in the ability to control our words and speak with discretion. Throughout Scripture, we find numerous exhortations regarding the power of our words and the importance of exercising restraint. *"Whoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps his soul from troubles"* (Pro 21:23). Our words have the power to build up or tear down, to bring life or death (Pro 18:21). Therefore, it is essential that we exercise caution and discretion in what we say. James, in the New Testament, offers further insight into the significance of our speech. *"So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath"* (James 1:19). This admonition ...

What's Your Alternative?

Image
WHAT'S YOUR ALTERNATIVE? Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear? And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee! And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him. Genesis 17:17-19 Abraham considered it a laughable matter that he would have a son in his old age, and found it hard to believe that he would have a son by Sarah, because he already had Ishmael. That’s why he prayed that God would bless Ishmael and establish His covenant with Ishmael. To Abraham, Ishmael was an alternative to Isaac, who was yet to be born. Sarah also made a decision to settle for an alternative to the fulfillment of God’s promise to her. She didn’t believe that God could make her bear a child because she wa...

Avoid Sin and Everything that Leads to it

Image
*AVOID SIN AND EVERYTHING THAT LEADS TO IT.* *"The word of God says the wages of sin is death", a child of God does not need to be out of breath to be called dead once sin occurs, death occurs, sin disconnects us from our source (God) Just like a fish dies when it is taken out of water, we diethe same way when sin occurs.*  Remember when God told Adam and Eve that when you eat of this fruit, you will surely die. Genesis:2  [16] And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “You shall eat freely of every tree of the garden; [17] but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will die.  But, when they eat the fruit, do they die a physical death? No. But they died a spiritual death, they were disconnected from God. Sin is deadly to us, it is the devil's gateway into our lives after all, he is the father of sin. He must therefore avoid sin. I always say this, when you have the devil's property he will surely c...

Pride and Correction: The Danger of Rejecting Rebuke

Image
*_Pride and Correction: The Danger of Rejecting Rebuke_* *"Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid"* (Proverbs 12:1). These words from the book of Proverbs remind us of the importance of receiving correction with humility and openness. To reject a rebuke and to refuse correction when we are in the wrong is a telltale sign of pride. Throughout Scripture, we find numerous examples of the consequences of pride and the importance of humility. *"Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall"* (Pro 16:18). Pride blinds us to our own faults and prevents us from growing spiritually. It leads to arrogance and stubbornness, hindering our ability to receive wise counsel and correction. *"The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom, and before honor is humility"* (Pro 15:33). True wisdom begins with a humble heart that is willing to acknowledge its own shortcomings and learn from correction. It is a ...

The Intersection of Love and Righteousness: A Biblical Perspective

Image
*_The Intersection of Love and Righteousness: A Biblical Perspective_* *"Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good."* ~Romans 12:9 There exists a common misconception that love is synonymous with acceptance, even in the face of willful sinfulness. However, as followers of Christ, it is essential to understand that love is not absent of holiness. Today, we explore the profound relationship between love and holiness; dispelling misconceptions and embracing biblical truth. Love is not merely a warm feeling of acceptance; it is a deep commitment rooted in truth and righteousness. While it is true that love entails acceptance and forgiveness, it also involves discerning right from wrong. 1 Corinthians 13:6 reminds us that love *"does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth."* Contrary to popular belief, it is lust that is blind, not love. *Lust blinds us to the consequences of sin and leads us down a path of destruction.* Howev...

Power to Heal

Image
POWER TO HEAL And these signs shall follow them that believe… they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17-18). Did you know that when it comes to healing the sick, we’re the ones God asked to do it? He gave us power to heal. In our theme scripture, the Lord Jesus didn’t say the believing ones shall pray to me to heal the sick; rather, He said, they shall lay hands on the sick, and the sick shall be healed. Then in Luke 10:9, He was just as direct when He sent His disciples out to preach the Gospel. He said, “… heal the sick…and say unto them, the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.” Also, He told them, “And as ye go, preach, saying, the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:7-8). Remarkably, He didn’t say, “pray for the sick”; rather, He said, “heal the sick.” Hallelujah! In Acts 3, Peter exemplified this authority to heal the sick when he encou...

A Sobering Warning: The Grieving of the Holy Spirit

Image
*_A Sobering Warning: The Grieving of the Holy Spirit_* In the book of Isaiah, we find a sobering warning in Isaiah 63:10: *"But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit; so He turned Himself against them as an enemy, and He fought against them."* These words echo with the weight of divine disappointment and the consequences of grieving the Spirit of God. Grieving the Holy Spirit is not merely an ancient concern, but a timeless one. The Holy Spirit is God's presence with us, our Comforter, our Guide, and our Teacher. When we grieve Him, we distance ourselves from the source of life and truth. This separation, as we see in Isaiah, can lead to a divine response that opposes us as if we were enemies. The warning is clear, and it is rooted in the consistent teaching of the Scriptures. In Ephesians 4:30, the apostle Paul cautions us, *"And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption."* The Holy Spirit is the seal upon th...

The Sweetness of God's Word: Finding Joy in Psalm 119

Image
The Sweetness of God's Word: Finding Joy in Psalm 119 *"How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through Your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way."* ♡Psalm 119:103-104♡ In these verses, we find a rich description of the delight and nourishment that God's Word provides to our souls. Let us unpack the significance of these verses and explore the profound value of immersing ourselves in Scripture. *"How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!"* Here, the psalmist expresses the sweetness of God's words. Just as honey delights the taste buds, so does the Word of God bring joy and satisfaction to our hearts. It is not merely a collection of letters and words but a source of spiritual nourishment and sustenance. Psalm 19:10 affirms this, declaring, *"More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb."* *"Thr...

Facing Fear With Faith: The Assurance of God's Presence

Image
*_Facing Fear with Faith: The Assurance of God's Presence_* Fear is an emotion that all of us encounter at some point. Whether it's fear of the unknown, fear of failure, or fear of loss, we often find ourselves grappling with these unsettling emotions. But here's the good news: whatever you fear, you don't have to handle it alone. Fear can lead us down various paths. Some try to conquer their fears by working harder, attempting to control every detail, living in denial, or, sadly, distancing themselves from God and His promises. However, a different approach exists, one that brings us closer to the Lord than we ever thought possible. Psalm 34:4 assures us: *"I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears."* Rather than resorting to self-reliance or avoidance, we can turn to God when we are afraid. As we honestly admit what we're afraid of, our fear can actually draw us closer to the Lord. Reading God's promises in the Bible of...

The Eternal Perspective: Remembering the End Goal in Life

Image
*_The Eternal Perspective: Remembering the End Goal in Life_* "For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?" ~Matthew 16:26 As Christians, it's essential that we maintain an eternal perspective in our lives. In the grand scheme of eternity, all that we have here and now is just for a little while, and it will not last. *"For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal"* (2 Corinthians 4:18) Consider the transient nature of earthly possessions and circumstances. Money can be gone in an instant, health will ultimately fail, loved ones will pass away, and one day we will take our very last breath. James 4:14 reminds us, *"Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes."* This is not to scare you, but rather to set things in the right pers...

When Your Marital Foundation is Wrong

Image
WHEN YOUR MARITAL FOUNDATION IS WRONG  Ps. 11:3 If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do? No reasonable person marries to divorce his or her spouse. Before you say I do, watch out for the red flags and resolve them. Where they are unresolvable, go to God in prayer and seek godly counsel. Marriage is hard work. For your marriage to be what you want, the couple must work together in partnership with God who institutes marriage. Marriage doesn't work by chance, fame, and wealth but rather through hard work and prayer. FACTORS THAT LEAD TO MARITAL BREAKDOWN. 1. When the woman or man has things he or she cannot afford.  This means that a man or woman is living above what he or she means. Don't marry a covetous or worldly spouse. Marry a contented man or woman. That does not mean you cannot be ambitious. The life of a man does not consist of the abundance of what he possesses. Lk. 12:15. 2.  When there is no trust in the marriage  A marriage dies ...

Sharing the Gospel: Don't Cast Pearls Before Swine

Image
*_Sharing the Gospel: Don't Cast Pearls Before Swine_* As followers of Christ, we are called to share the Good News with the world, but it is essential that we do so with discernment and wisdom. In our efforts to evangelize, we often encounter individuals who are not open to the message of Christianity and are more interested in arguing and refuting our beliefs. In such situations, it is crucial to remember the value of discernment. Proverbs 26:4-5 provides a valuable principle: *"Do not answer a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like him. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes."* These verses emphasize the importance of discerning when to engage in arguments and when to refrain from doing so. Some individuals have made up their minds and are not genuinely seeking the truth; they only want to argue. We must ask ourselves: When was the last time we witnessed someone become a Christian after losing an argument? The truth is that ...

Practical Ways to Seek and Experience God's Peace

Image
*Practical ways to seek and experience God's peace.* 1. *Acknowledge Him first thing in the morning.* Start your day by acknowledging God's presence and committing your day to Him. Begin with prayer and meditation on His Word before engaging in other activities. By prioritizing God in the morning, you set the tone for the rest of your day, aligning yourself with His peace and guidance. As Psalm 5:3 says, *"My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up."* 2. *Guard your eyes and heart.* Be mindful of what you expose yourself to, both visually and mentally. Avoid consuming media or content that promotes fear, anxiety, or unrealistic expectations. Instead, focus on things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, and of good report, as Philippians 4:8 instructs. By guarding your eyes and heart, you protect your inner peace from external influences that can disrupt it. 3. *Avoid scandal and gossip.* Refuse to ...

BRINGING IN THE SHEAVES

Image
BRINGING IN THE SHEAVES   Central in the heart of God is the salvation of souls of men. The fall and subsequent perishing of any man is never God’s pleasure. Jesus had only one assignment in coming to the world – to save sinners – Mt 1:21. In demonstrating His love for mankind, God sacrificed His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him …” Jn 3:16. To fulfill this assignment, Jesus came and appointed men for two purposes – “that they might be with Him and that He might send them forth. Mk 3:14. Being with Him to study and know Him and sending them forth to bring to Him men. No  wonder, in picking His disciples, He said: “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men” Mt 4:19. In other words, bringing souls unto His kingdom. How then do we do this? It is by the preaching of the Word of God – sowing the seed (the word) in the heart of men. The joy of every farmer ...
