Created to Worship

Image
Created to Worship God speaks through the prophet Isaiah a breathtaking truth about His people: "This people I have formed for Myself; they shall declare My praise" (Isaiah 43:21). This is not merely a call to a religious activity; it is a revelation of our fundamental identity and purpose. We were formed by God and for God. Our default position, our very reason for existence, is to worship Him. This worship is not confined to a Sunday morning song or a private prayer—it is the totality of a life oriented around declaring His excellence. Worship is the thread meant to weave through every area of our existence. For the young, it is honoring God in friendships, studies, and passions. For the old, it is declaring His faithfulness through wisdom, testimony, and perseverance. At work, worship is integrity and excellence. At home, it is love and service. In joy, it is gratitude; in trial, it is trust. The Apostle Paul echoes this holistic call: "Therefore, whether you eat or...

Shift Your From: From Blaming to Thanking God

Image
*_Shift Your Focus: From Blaming to Thanking God_* In times of difficulty, it's easy to fall into the trap of blaming others, our circumstances, or even God for our troubles. However, the Bible encourages us to shift our focus from blaming to thanking God, regardless of our circumstances. Paul writes in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, *"In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."* This command is clear: in every situation, we are to give thanks. Thankfulness is not about ignoring our problems but about recognizing God’s sovereignty and goodness even amid them. When we look at the Israelites in the wilderness, we see a stark contrast between blaming and thanking God. Despite witnessing incredible miracles, they frequently complained and blamed God for their hardships. Numbers 14:2-3 recounts their grumbling: *"And all the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them, 'If only we had die...

Pursuing God's Presence: The Heart of True Worship

Image
*_Pursuing God's Presence: The Heart of True Worship_* The pursuit of God's presence and His Word sets apart those who honor Him from those who merely drift through life without acknowledging His presence. As believers, our devotion to seeking God's face and His eternal truth distinguishes us as His faithful followers. Scripture emphasizes the importance of seeking God with a wholehearted devotion. *"But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul."* (Deu 4:29). God promises that those who earnestly seek Him will surely find Him, establishing a deep and intimate connection with their Creator. There is a big difference between a Christian who complacently goes through the motions of life, neglecting the presence of God, and one who actively seeks Him with passion and purpose. *"You will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart."* (Jer 29:13). True see...

The Heart of Worship: Living a Life of Praise

Image
*_The Heart of Worship: Living a Life of Praise_* True worship is not confined to a moment of singing or lifting our hands in praise; it extends far beyond that into the very fabric of our lives. When we surrender our hearts and offer our lives as a living sacrifice, we embody the essence of worship in its purest form. *"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service."* ♡Romans 12:1♡ Our entire existence becomes an act of worship when we dedicate ourselves wholly to God, living in a manner that reflects His goodness and grace. Colossians 3:17 reinforces this truth: *"And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him*." Every aspect of our lives—our words, actions, and choices—should be infused with gratitude and reverence for God, acknowledging His sovereignty and love. When we pr...

Heavenly Perspective: Embarrassing Joyful Worship Through It All

Image
*_Heavenly Perspective: Embracing Joyful Worship Through It All_* *"You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore."* ♡Psalm 16:11♡ This timeless truth invites us to anchor our joy in the enduring presence of our Heavenly Father. We often find ourselves fixating on temporary concerns—money, career, possessions. Yet, these will eventually fade away. As believers, we are reminded by Matthew 6:19-20: *"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal."* Our ultimate treasure lies in the eternal realm of God's presence. Philippians 4:4 echoes this sentiment: *"Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I will say, rejoice!"* Here, the Apostle Paul encourages us to find our joy in the Lord, independent o...

The Gospel And the Discipline of Worship

Image
*The Gospel and the Discipline of Worship*   _We need the gospel before we can worship._  Many worshippers fail to realize that it is possible to worship God in vain. In Matthew 15:9, Jesus quotes the rebuke of God given through the prophet Isaiah: "This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men." So people can worship the true God - even with the God-given words and forms of worship — and yet worship in vain. Jesus said of Himself, "No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6), meaning that apart from a knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ there is no access to or genuine worship of God. Of course, more than a mere knowledge of the gospel is needed to worship God. As Jesus declared, "God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth" (John 4:24). In order to "worship in spirit and truth," a person must be in...

One Heart, One Voice: Declaring Love and Devotion to Jesus

Image
*_One Heart, One Voice: Declaring Love and Devotion to Jesus_* In a world rich with diversity, one universal truth binds us together: the boundless love and transforming power of Jesus Christ. Across languages, cultures, and challenges, the name of Jesus remains the source of our healing, deliverance, and eternal hope. It is in His name that we find unity, declaring our love and devotion to the Savior who transcends all barriers. The Apostle Paul, beautifully captures the essence of our collective devotion: *"That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father"* (Philippians 2:10-11). This declaration goes beyond cultural boundaries, reaching into the depths of our hearts and souls. When we encounter Jesus, we experience profound healing and deliverance. The Gospels are filled with accounts of Jesus' compass...

Praising God for His Majesty and Answered Prayers

Image
*_Praising God for His Majesty and Answered Prayers_* Psalm 99:6 *"Moses and Aaron were among His priests, And Samuel was among those who called upon His name; They called upon the LORD, and He answered them."* Psalm 99 invites us to praise our God for two significant reasons: His essential character and His gracious response to our prayers. Our God is truly worthy of all our praise, for He is great, majestic, and radiantly holy. As the holy God sits in majesty, we might think that we could never approach Him, but the psalmist reminds us that He invites us into an intimate relationship with Him through prayer. *God has designed prayer as a means of blessing, restoring, and helping His people.* When we call upon Him in prayer, He answers and reveals great and mighty things that we do not know (Jeremiah 33:3). Through prayer, we experience His presence and receive grace, healing, and strength from His throne. Just as Moses, Aaron, and Samuel had intimate encounters with God t...

OVERFLOWING THANKFULNESS – COLOSSIANS 2:6-7

Image
OVERFLOWING THANKFULNESS – COLOSSIANS 2:6-7   “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him. Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving”. To abound with thanksgiving means overflowing thankfulness. It is God’s expectation that believers are full in giving thanks hence He said “In everything, give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18. Anyone who will show-case the will of God must be someone who is full of thanks. It is commonly believed that only when things go well that people give thanks. The scripture is replete with situations and circumstances that seem unpleasant yet thanks were given to God.   In John 11:41 “…An Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou has heard me.” The Psalmist, he was an epitome of gratitude no matter the circumstances even when he saw the wicked prosper – Psalm 73. In...

You are awesome in this place Mighty God! You are awesome in this place Abba Father! You are worthy of our praise; unto you we prays. By mere spoken word, he brought the world into existence. At the blast of his nostrils, the world melted. The parting of red sea for the children of Israel to pass on dry ground in their journey from Egypt to the promised land is one of the acts that real his awesomeness.   How he made a whole nation together with their goods, animals and possessions; young and old pass through on foot on dry ground: thus saving them from a terrible holocaust. And yet turn...

THE KEY AND POWER OF THANKSGIVING

Image
Bible Text: Luke 17:12-19 There are two lessons we can learn from the reference text:   1.   Thanksgiving is an uncommon virtue. The Bible says there were 10 lepers and only one (10%) came back to say "Thank you”. Only 10% of people naturally give thanks. And what Jesus was trying to say was if at His time only one leper (10%) had a grateful heart, what will happen when He has left the Earth? One of the works of the devil in the last days to deny man of his testimony is to make man ungrateful to God (2 Timothy 3:1-2).  2.   Uncommon virtue generates uncommon results. A lot of people don't appreciate God’s blessing in their lives. A lot of people commonize God’s blessings in their lives. Every time, they are looking at the blessings of God upon another man’s life and they fail to look at the blessings of God upon their own life. God will give you the virtue of a grateful heart in the Mighty Name of Jesus. In the reference text, only one leper came back to ...

God is Almighty

Image
This is an age-long question and in the quest to know or have an answer to this question, rational beings have made several efforts to know God. Such efforts have led men to different deities depending on their locations and circumstances. ‘Rational beings’ in the sense that those who want to put emotions aside and reason on the existence of God.   There is an the old story told of a child whose father told him that God created all things including human beings but the child retorted by asking the father: “who created God?”. This being inexplicable for the natural man, the father dodged the question. And because the natural man cannot provide an answer, many have become fools! The Psalmist said “The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good” Ps 14:1; 53:1.   In their further search for God, men resorted into making idols – “Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s ...
