Ye Are The Light:
It is obvious that we cannot give what we don’t have.
God has been in existence before He created heaven and earth. Before creation,
one of the virtues of God is Light. 1 John1:5. No wonder, the first declaration
of God at His wonderful works of creation was – let there be Light. Gen 1:2-5.
To complete the circle, He made the great light sun to rule the day, the lesser
light moon and stars to rule the night. Gen 1:16-17.
After the significant deliverance of Israelites, in
leading them to the Promised Land, God manifested His presence by leading them
by the Pillar of Cloud in the day and Pillar of Fire in the night. Ex.

and soundness to the Israelites.
In the Old Testament, God made an everlasting covenant
with King David and his seed. 2 Chr 21:7. Thereafter his service to God and his
people David was known to be light of Israel even in his old age. 2 Sam 21:17.
Also King David declared to be a witness of the Almighty God. Is 55:3-4. This
is the main focus of this message which we are expected to be practicalised in
this dispensation of grace.
There were various challenges in the life of King
David, by the grace of God, he prevailed. There has been lots of rebellion
against light from ages pass till now. Job 24:13. No wonder men loved darkness
than light because their deeds were evil. John 3:19. God made an unequal
provision for the salvation of mankind. Acts 4:12; Lk 3:6; 1 Pet 1:3-4.
Jesus is the light of the whole world. John 9:5,
John1:4-5. The conversion of Saul was spectacular. Acts 9:3-5. The great
deliverance of Peter – Acts 12:7, Acts 22:6&11. It is the plan of God to
make the believers fruitful as He declared unto Adam & Eve in Gen 2:2b. It
was with absolute authority that Jesus Christ declared unto Peter that he will
be fishers of men – Mt 4:19. He made this known to Peter with divine mandate
through which He will multiply His type on earth through harvest of souls as
the church embark on evangelism.
In the Lord’s message on the mount, He made another
statement with divine mandate expected to be result oriented. Mt 5:13-16; John
15:16.
