(a)    Secular Leadership (natural or worldly leadership) – Mt.20:25

(b)   Christian Leadership (godly leadership):

B1 – Nominal Christian Leadership (1Tim.2:2; Rom.13:1-7)

B2 – Spiritual Leadership (Mt.20:26-28; Lk.22:24-27)

Natural or Worldly Leadership (Mt.20:25)

Godly or Spiritual Leadership (Mt.20:26-28)

Lords: dominates and subjugates in pride

Servant-Leader: serves in love and humility

Commands and manipulates

Encourages, inspires, and motivates

Exploits people; Rules by force

Respects people; Rules in love

Self-confident and independent of the followers

God-confident; interdependent on followers

Ambitious; makes own decisions outside God

Visionary; seeks to find and do God’s will

Enjoys commanding and controlling others

Delights to obey God; enjoys serving others

Motivated solely by personal gains or rewards

Motivated by love for God and God’s people

Transient in effect

Lasting and eternal in value, impact and rewards
