PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT IN CHILDREN MINISTRY

Passage – 2 Tim 2:1-2

Parents are the custodian of a child or children. They are the routes through which a child is brought to the world. Bringing a child to the world carries a lot of responsibilities, one of these responsibilities is Evangelism which is most important of all the responsibilities.

Evangelism is a process or means of bringing souls to the true knowledge and relationship with God our creator. This is the best legacy a parent can pass on or give to a child that can last till eternity if carefully done and retained.

Why must parent  be involve?

v The child is in their custody and under their roof and watch for the first at least 12 to 18 years of his life.

v All training, teaching, instructing are from them either by example of verbally.

v Children takes after their parent intentionally or unintentionally.

v Whatever a child becomes is a reflection of whom and what the parent are.

v The life of a child will either give joy or sorrow to the parent.

v It is very important that parent should prepare to present their children back to God in eternity since children are God’s Heritage and a gift from God.

How should they be Involve?

v Let your countenance reveal the joy of the Lord.

v As soon as he can talk teach him the word of God, songs, how to pray.

v When he can read and write let the Bible and songs be part of his books.

v Teach sound doctrine, undiluted word of God.

v Attend fellowship and church with your child.

v Let him be involve in church activities.

v Please show him how to do it by your way of life.

v After given his life to Christ support him with prayer everyday of your life.
