STAND OUT!
STAND OUT!
The world today is replete with evils and all kinds of
criminal activities so much so that every country has its own taste and measure
of the venom of implacable men and women. Many children are becoming more and
more hardened in their hearts and disobedient. The present world is dominated
by subverted humanistic thoughts, paedophiles false teachers, callous
governments and wickedness against humanity. The high level of recalcitrance
even in the Church has become very worrisome to many genuine spiritual leaders.
Consequently,
the hitherto ardent Christians are becoming compromising and the Christian values
are giving way to social vices and moral decadence. The level of corruption in
our day is mind-boggling. Sometimes, corrupt men and women, criminals and
looters are freer than the innocent!
“Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily,
therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil” –
Ecclesiastes 8:11. All forms of evil are perpetrated flagrantly with impunity.
Sin is being given a coloration to make it more attractive.
Yet, in all these prevailing situations, God has only
one question: “Who is on the Lord side? – God’s eyes are searching for those
whose hearts are perfect 2 Chronicles 16:9 …”For the eyes of the Lord run to
and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of
them whose heart is perfect toward him…”.Those who will stand out. Those who
will, under any circumstance, pitch their tents with the Lord and so remain
uncompromising. Where are those, like Daniel, who will not defile themselves
with the portion of the king’s meat nor with the wine which he drinks? Daniel
1:8. Standing out is standing in righteousness, in purity, in integrity, in
holy conversation, honesty, uprightness and in fact in all areas of life.
In all ages, God has never lacked men and women who
would stand out for Him. Daniel stood out (Daniel 1:8); Joseph stood out (Genesis
39:8-10): Mary, the mother of Jesus, among other virgins of her time, stood out
(Luke 1:27 & 28); Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego (Daniel 3:13-26); Noah
(Genesis 7-9); Esther (Esther 2:15-17) and many others. Those who stand out for
God have always been outstanding in conduct, character, achievements and exploits
for the Lord. Will you also stand out in this perverse and corrupt generation?
