In our journey of faith, it is crucial to discern between genuine trust in God and superstitious beliefs that attach undue power to objects or external rituals. True faith is not rooted in the notion that certain actions or items possess inherent spiritual efficacy, but rather in a personal relationship with God and a heartfelt response to His will.


God desires an intimate connection with His children. He wants us to respond personally to Him, not through a mere reliance on external symbols or rituals. While attending church, partaking in Communion, teaching Sunday school, or wearing a cross can be meaningful expressions of faith, they should never become substitutes for a genuine relationship with God.


Scripture warns against superstitious beliefs and practices that attribute special powers to objects or rituals apart from God Himself. Instead, let us anchor our faith in these biblical truths:


_*Personal Relationship*_: Our faith is not based on objects or actions but on a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Jesus taught that true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24). It is through faith in Jesus that we have access to the Father and experience His love, grace, and guidance.


*_Grace and Favor_*: Our acceptance by God is not achieved through external acts or objects. It is solely by God's grace that we are saved, and it is His favor that we receive as His children. Ephesians 2:8-9 reminds us, *"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."*


*_Heartfelt Obedience_*: Our response to God's will should flow from a heart of love and gratitude. Micah 6:8 reminds us of what God desires from us: *"He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?"* Our actions should be motivated by a genuine desire to please God and align with His purposes.


As followers of Christ, let us not be swayed by superstitions or rely on external practices as a means of gaining God's favor or protection. True faith is found in a personal, intimate relationship with Him, marked by obedience, love, and a desire to walk in His ways. Our faith is not in objects or rituals but in the living God who loves us and empowers us by His Spirit.


May we continually seek God's presence, respond to His will with wholehearted devotion, and grow in our understanding that true faith is not about external symbols but about a vibrant, personal relationship with our heavenly Father.
