Childlike Faith: The Path to Knowing God

*_Childlike Faith: The Path to Knowing God_*

*"Look, I go forward, but He is not there, And backward, but I cannot perceive Him; When He works on the left hand, I cannot behold Him; When He turns to the right hand, I cannot see Him."*

~Job 23:8-9

Job's words in Job 23:8-9 reflect his struggle to perceive God's presence and understand His ways. Job was searching for God in the material realm, but he couldn't find Him. This highlights an important truth: God cannot be discovered or fully known through intellectual pursuits or by seeking Him in material forms alone.

The Scripture affirms that *"God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth"* (John 4:24). God desires a genuine and heartfelt worship that transcends the intellectual realm. It's not about human wisdom or intellect; it's about connecting with God in the depths of our spirits.

Jesus, in His teachings, emphasized the simplicity and humility of childlike faith. He took a child and placed him in their midst, saying, *"Unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven"* (Matthew 18:2-3). This illustrates that God is not primarily discovered through intellectual prowess but through childlike trust and dependency.

To draw near to God, we must move beyond the confines of the material world and step into the realm of faith and the spiritual dimension. Intellect alone cannot grasp the fullness of God's nature. He reveals Himself to us in ways that we can understand and experience personally.

God is ultimately found in Jesus Christ. Jesus declared, *"He who has seen Me has seen the Father"* (John 14:9). He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one can come to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). It is through a personal relationship with Jesus that we encounter God's presence and receive His mercy and grace.

Whether we are young children or educated professors, the path to knowing God remains the same. We must humbly set aside our own intellect and wisdom, and approach the cross of Jesus with a repentant heart, acknowledging our need for His forgiveness and salvation. It is in surrendering ourselves to Him that we truly find and experience the presence of God.
