The End-time Events
THE
END-TIME EVENTS
(Yet
to be fulfilled)
Introduction:
Quite often believers and even unbelievers are quick
to ask questions about the end-time vis-à-vis, the fulfillment of prophecies in
the Bible. At a time, the subject of the end-time became the in-thing whereby
believers were eager to know how far we are into the time-table of God about
the coming of the Lord and the signs of His coming.
Far back in the days of the apostle. Peter wrote:
“Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come,
scoffing and following their own evil desires.
They will say “Where is this ‘coming” he promised? Ever since our
ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation”.
But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into
being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also
the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present
heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and
destruction of the ungodly” 2 Pt 3:3-7.
The Day and Hour Unknown:
The quest to know when the end-time will be (arising
from the signs highlighted by Jesus in Mt 24) made Jesus to say “But about the
day or hour no one knows not even the angels in heaven; nor the Son but only my
Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son
of Man” Mt 24:26-27. The same Quest remains with us till today. But without
doubt and indeed, incontrovertible, there are prophecies about the
end-time/coming of the Lord that have been fulfilled and being fulfilled and
those yet to be fulfilled.
Apart from other passages in the Bible concerning the
end-time prophecies, the message of the Lord Jesus in Mt 24 is a very comprehensive
detail not only of the events that will take place before then but also signs
that will herald their happenings. See also Mk 13 & Lk 21. What then are
some of these prophecies yet to be fulfilled? The following list is not
exhaustive. Let us read the passages for better understanding.

Conclusion:
If other prophecies came to pass, bearing in mind, the integrity
and the faithfulness of our God, all others will definitely come to pass.
“Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons
ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the
coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being
on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?” 2 Pt 3:11-13.
