Keep Your Garment Pure

KEEP YOUR GARMENT PURE

Eph. 5:27

That He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Dan. 7:9

I beheld till the throne were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of His head like pure wool: His throne was like the fiery flame, and His wheels as burning fire.

The garment is a piece of clothing worn for such purposes as to cover nakedness, for beauty,  and add dignity to a person. The way you dress reveals the type of person you are.

When a man gives his life to Christ, there is a garment God gives him that he is known with. It is both visible and invisible. This includes the garment of holiness Ex. 28:3, the garment of praise Isah. 61:3 and garment of salvation Isah. 61:10.

MEN WHO REFUSE TO DEFILE THEIR GARMENTS.

In Rom. 3:23, sin denied the humanity of God's glory.

• In Dan. 3:8-25, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego did not defile their garment by bowing to worship Nebuchadnezzar's golden image. The golden image can be that thing you cherish more than God in your life.

• In Jer. 35:2-10, 14, the sons of Jehonadab did not defile their garments with wine from a man of God Jeremiah. They kept what their grandfather Rechab told their father 250 years ago.

• In Gen. 39:7-12, Joseph did not allow the advances of Potiphar's wife to lure him to commit fornication with her and defiles his garment.

• In Dan. 1:8, Daniel did not stain his garment with the king's meat.

I see a lot of believers today defiling their garments because of the following:

• They want to attain greatness in life.

• They want to have good things in life.

• They want to belong and be relevant in society.

• They want to move from obscurity to the limelight.

Friends, you can have all these and still keep your garment pure if you will seek the kingdom of God first and His righteousness. He will surely add them to you as benefits. Stop following what is supposed to follow you.

Satan has no gift. All he wants to do is to defile your garment. Whatever he gives you, be sure will defile your garment and deny you of eternity with God. Your garment MUST be sparkling white. There must be no impurity, no spot, and no wrinkle on it.

Have you stained your garment with king's meat? Have you removed your white garment because of the love of this present world? 2 Tim. 4:10. Beloved, God can wash your stained garment and make it white again. Ps. 51:7. He can clean up your mess and your dirty past and give you a brand new beginning.
