Proverbs 28:26 counsels, *"He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but whoever walks wisely will be delivered."* This principle invites us to ponder the foundation of our relational choices.


In a world emphasizing emotions and desires, Jeremiah 17:9 delivers a sobering truth: *"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?"* This prompts us to consider the limitations of relying solely on feelings when making relationship decisions.


The significance of seeking God's wisdom in relationships cannot be overstated. Proverbs 3:5-6 emerges as a guiding principle: *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."* Aligning decisions with God's Word provides a solid foundation for any relationship.


Emotions can be transient and unstable, shifting with circumstances. Ephesians 4:14 underscores the need for stability and maturity: *"that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting."* This verse encourages us to avoid letting fleeting feelings dictate relationship choices.


The world may prompt haste or disregard for warning signs, but Proverbs 22:3 advises wisely: *"A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself, but the simple pass on and are punished."* Informed by this wisdom, we can make choices that lead to healthy and fulfilling relationships.


As we navigate the realm of relationships, let us be committed to safeguarding our hearts. By embracing relationships rooted in faith, respect, and shared values, and by allowing God's Word to guide us, we build the foundation for relationships that honor God and bring genuine and lasting joy to our lives.
