Through the Red Sea: God's Way, Not Removal
*_Through the Red Sea: God's Way, Not Removal_*
God doesn't always remove our problems; instead, He makes a way through them. The incredible story of the Red Sea crossing is a powerful reminder of God's miraculous provision and His unwavering faithfulness.
In Exodus 14:21-22, we read, *"Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided. So, the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left."*
God could have chosen to eliminate the Red Sea altogether, making the Israelites' journey smoother. However, He chose to part it, creating a miraculous path through the very obstacle that seemed unconquerable. This reveals a profound aspect of God's character: He is not always in the business of removing our challenges but, rather, providing a way through them.
In our lives, we often face difficulties that appear as vast and intimidating as the Red Sea. These obstacles could be financial struggles, health issues, relationship conflicts, or various other trials. It's crucial to understand that God's response might not always be instantaneous removal. Instead, He orchestrates events, leading us through our challenges, shaping us in the process.
Consider Isaiah 43:2-3: *"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior."* Here, God assures us that He will be with us as we pass through various trials.
Think about the times when God didn't instantly remove the problems in your life but instead guided you through them. Reflect on how, in those moments, you experienced His presence and providence. His intention is not merely to remove obstacles but to deepen your faith, trust, and reliance on Him.
As we face challenges, may we remember the lesson of the Red Sea: God specializes in making a way when there seems to be no way. Let's trust in His wisdom, recognizing that His paths are higher than ours, and His plans are perfect. Embrace the journey, for through the trials, God refines our character, strengthens our faith, and leads us to the promised land.
