Assurance of Salvation: Walking in Holiness

*_Assurance of Salvation: Walking in Holiness_*

The Christian journey is marked by the profound assurance of salvation that dwells in the hearts of believers. This assurance is more than a fleeting feeling; it is a confident knowledge that we belong to Christ, secured by His redemptive work on the cross.

But have you ever considered how this assurance of salvation impacts the way we live? *Scripture reveals a vital connection between our confidence in salvation and the pursuit of holiness.* In other words, the assurance of salvation will lead you to live a life of holiness and not to indulge in sin.

1 John 3:9 reminds us of the transformative power of our salvation: *"Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him, and he cannot sin because he has been born of God."* This verse highlights the profound change that takes place within us when we become children of God. The assurance of salvation awakens a new nature that resists sin.

2 Corinthians 5:17 underscores this transformation: *"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."* When we are assured of our salvation, we recognize that we are no longer enslaved to the patterns of sin from our past.

Romans 8:1 offers a reassuring promise: *"There is, therefore, now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit."* Salvation assurance empowers us to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh.

In light of these verses, it is clear that the assurance of salvation is not a license to indulge in sin. Rather, it is the catalyst for a life of holiness. Knowing that we have been set free from the chains of sin, that we are new creations in Christ, and that there is no condemnation for those in Jesus, we are motivated to live in a manner that reflects our identity as children of God.

As you reflect on the assurance of your salvation, remember that it is not a passive belief but a dynamic force that empowers you to live a life that reflects the holiness of your Heavenly Father. Embrace this assurance and allow it to transform your walk with Christ, striving to honor Him in all you do.
