In the sacred pages of the Bible, we find astonishing accounts of God's divine intervention and sovereignty over the very fabric of time itself. One such remarkable story is recorded in the book of Joshua, where God displayed His absolute mastery over time.


Joshua 10:13 recounts this astounding event: *"So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the people had revenge upon their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day."*


Imagine the scene: Joshua, the leader of the Israelites, found himself in the midst of a great battle. The day was waning, and victory was within reach, yet the sun's descent would soon envelop them in darkness, granting their enemies a reprieve. In that pivotal moment, Joshua, filled with unwavering faith, called upon the Lord. He did not ask for victory in the traditional sense but for an extraordinary extension of time.


The result was nothing short of miraculous. *God halted the motion of the sun, effectively turning time back.* This divine intervention allowed the Israelites to secure their triumph over their adversaries.


God's dominion extends not only over His creation but over the very flow of time. Our God is not bound by the constraints of hours, minutes, and seconds as we are. *He exists outside of time, holding our past, our present, and our future in the palm of His hand.*


It's natural for us, as finite beings, to be concerned about the progression of time, our schedules, and the unfolding of events in our lives. However, we must always remember that our Heavenly Father operates in a realm where time is a mere tool—a creation of His design. He is the Author of time, and He wields it with divine precision to fulfill His purposes and to bring about His plans.


In a world where the clock continually ticks away and where uncertainties about the future abound, we can find unwavering assurance in the knowledge that our God is in the future even before we arrive there. He has already charted the course, and His hand guides us through the intricate paths of life.


Let us trust in the God who halted the sun in the sky, the God who is outside of time, and who promises to be with us every step of the way.
