Requirements for Church Growth

REQUIREMENTS FOR CHURCH GROWTH

Acts 6:1-7

Every man God uses for church growth passed through the quarry of God. 1 Kg 6:7. At His quarry, He chisels out flesh and weight that easily beset man. Heb. 12:1. The church is not the building but the gathering of genuinely born-again children of God.

In Acts 6:1&2, the apostles knew clearly what God called them to do.

> They were called to teach the word of God and to pray for the growth of the church.

> They were called to nurture brethren unto maturity to handle responsibilities. They knew that they were not called to serve the table. Many are serving the table today.

The apostles were not intrusive in what God did not ask them to do.

> The church of God grows when everyone plays their roles as instructed by God.

> The church of God grows when everyone is allowed to play their part as God instructed.

> The church of God grows when there is no root of bitterness among brethren.

> The church of God grows when pride is destroyed among brethren.

>  The church of God grows when the flesh is silent.

> The church of God grows when the love of God and oneness are allowed to be the guiding principle.

> The church of God grows when we are ready to suffer for Christ.

> The church of God grows when we are not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.

When the apostles stayed in their calling as steward of grace, the word of God grew and the number of disciples continued to grow. Many of us hide our identity as Christians today in public spaces.

When God needed to grow His church among the Gentiles, He encountered Paul of Tarsus on his way to Damascus. God prepared him for the growth. Acts 9:1-16.

When God needed to bring His children from Egypt to serve Him, He nurtured Moses a murderer to be a shepherd within 40 years. Ex. 2:11-15. God is never in a hurry to prepare men for His work on earth.

Friends, can God use you to grow His church? Are you ready to make yourself available to be used by God? The first step is you must be born again.  His outstretched arms are waiting for you saying come.
