Happiness, that elusive feeling many spend their lives pursuing, often seems to slip through our fingers just as we believe we've grasped it. King Solomon, in his wisdom and wealth, declared in Ecclesiastes that he found most things in life to be meaningless and void of joy.

So often, we seek happiness in the people and things around us, especially in our relationships. We enter marriage or friendships believing they will bring us happiness, only to realize that our expectations are not always met. Sometimes, our loved ones may even demand more than they give, leaving us feeling used or disillusioned.

Ecclesiastes 2:11 highlights Solomon's sentiment: *"Then I looked on all the works that my hands had done and on the labor in which I had toiled; and indeed all was vanity and grasping for the wind."* Despite his wealth and achievements, Solomon found them lacking in providing lasting happiness.

However, true happiness is not found in relationships, possessions, or achievements. It comes from a deeper source—serving the Lord and finding joy in His presence.

Psalm 16:11 reminds us, *"You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore."* This joy is not dependent on our circumstances but is found in the unchanging nature of God.

When we shift our focus from seeking happiness in others to serving the Lord wholeheartedly, something remarkable happens. We discover a joy that transcends fleeting emotions and temporary circumstances.

Happiness rooted in serving the Lord is enduring and fulfilling. It's a joy that comes from knowing and walking in God's purposes. As we dedicate ourselves to His service, we find a satisfaction that surpasses the passing pleasures of this world.
