The Infant Saviour, King Eternal: Celebrating Jesus at Christmas
*_The Infant Savior, King Eternal: Celebrating Jesus at Christmas_*
As we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, during this joyous Christmas season, let us reflect on the profound truth that the infant who came as our Savior is now also the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
Isaiah 9:6 prophesied about the birth of Jesus: *"For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."* This Child born in Bethlehem is no ordinary child but the promised Messiah, the King who would reign forever.
The birth of Jesus in the humblest of settings marked the beginning of His earthly journey as our Savior, but it was just the beginning. Philippians 2:9-11 reveals the exalted position He now holds: *"Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."*
This is the fulfillment of the prophecy, for Jesus, the once humble infant in the manger, has been exalted to the highest position of authority. He is not only our Savior but also the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Every knee will bow before Him, acknowledging His sovereignty, whether willingly or unwillingly.
As we celebrate His birth, let us not only rejoice in the infant Savior but also acknowledge His eternal kingship. Let us bow before Him in adoration, for He is the one who offers us salvation and reigns in majesty.
May this Christmas be a time of worship, gratitude, and reverence as we celebrate Jesus, the Savior who is now also the eternal King.
