In essence, Moses declares, _"Lord, if Your presence isn't accompanying me, I have no desire to proceed. I'm not willing to leave this place without You. I won't venture anywhere unless I am certain of Your presence."_ This declaration stands as one of the wisest decisions Moses could make—a commitment to stay put unless under the covering of God's presence.


It's a principle that resonates with profound truth. Proverbs 3:5-6 reinforces the importance of relying on God's guidance, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."* Venturing anywhere apart from God's presence is akin to leaning on one's own understanding—foolish and unreliable.


The psalmist echoes this sentiment in Psalm 16:8: *"I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved."* Acknowledging and prioritizing God's presence ensures a steadfast and unshakable foundation.


It's a call to recognize our need for the Lord's presence in every step we take. Psalm 23:4 captures this dependence, *"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me."* Even in the darkest valleys, the presence of the Lord provides comfort and assurance.


As you navigate life's journey, heed the wisdom in Moses' plea. Embrace the truth that venturing without God's presence is indeed foolishness. Stand firm, anchored in His presence, and experience the guidance, comfort, and unwavering assurance that only He can provide.
