Wise Management

*_Wise Management: Our Money, Our Bodies, Our Faith_*

As followers of Christ, we are called to be faithful stewards not only of our finances but also of our bodies, which are temples of the Holy Spirit. *“Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?”* (1 Corinthians 6:19). Just as we manage our finances to glorify God, we are responsible for taking care of our health and treating our bodies with respect and care.

Being wise with our money includes choosing purchases that support, rather than harm, our health. The world often markets products that can harm our bodies, such as junk foods, addictive substances, or items that encourage unhealthy lifestyles. As good stewards, we are called to discern between helpful and harmful choices. *“All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful”* (1 Corinthians 6:12). Our bodies are gifts from God, and we should not harm them through unhealthy or excessive indulgences.

Additionally, caring for our bodies means investing time and resources in things that support our well-being. This could include spending on wholesome food, exercise, rest, and other habits that promote health. When we wisely manage our resources in ways that honor God and care for our bodies, we reflect a lifestyle of gratitude for His provision.

In financial stewardship, we are also reminded to avoid spending impulsively on unnecessary or excessive items. Jesus warns, *“Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses”* (Luke 12:15). Instead of buying items to fulfill temporary desires, we should seek ways to use our money that align with God’s purpose.

Finally, being a good steward means using what we have for God’s kingdom, our well-being, and the support of others. As Paul teaches, *“Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God”* (1 Corinthians 10:31). By choosing what we purchase and how we care for our bodies in ways that honor Him, we reflect a heart of gratitude and obedience.

In the end, God has entrusted us with both our money and our bodies, and we honor Him by using these gifts wisely and responsibly. As we align our lifestyle with His will, we are freed to live more fully, give generously, and enjoy the true blessings He has given us.
