Every Marriage Needs Healthy Boundaries

EVERY MARRIAGE NEEDS HEALTHY BOUNDARIES

1. PUT BOUNDARIES OF INFORMATION

Don’t share everything about your marriage with outsiders. Some information is sacred and personal

2. PUT BOUNDARIES IN YOUR HOUSE

People shouldn't just walk in and out of your house. Both of you should determine who comes in, when and for how long

3. PUT BOUNDARIES IN CONVERSATIONS

Be unapologetic about walking away or stopping conversations that disrespect your marriage or your spouse

4. PUT BOUNDARIES IN YOUR INNER CIRCLE

You can be social and friendly, but be specific and discerning who you allow closest to you because they impact you and your marriage

5. PUT BOUNDARIES FOR WORK

Work hard and smart to pursue your purpose and provide for your family but not at the expense of quality time with your family. Have a work-family balance

6. PUT BOUNDARIES FROM EXTERNAL IDEAS

There are many ideas being propagated in the world, not all of it is helpful. Choose wisely. Avoid especially online ideas that seek to favour one gender whilst putting the other gender (of your spouse) down

7. PUT BOUNDARIES IN YOUR FINANCES

It is great to help people, to give, to support others but do it together as a couple, with wisdom and understanding your limits. Don't drain your family finances. Balance

8. PUT BOUNDARIES FOR YOUR FAMILY

Let your parents and relatives know that the family you are building with your spouse is your priority, teach them to respect your home

9. PUT BOUNDARIES ON YOUR TIME

Don't give most of your energetic, precious time outside while you ignore your spouse

10. PUT BOUNDARIES ON YOUR PHONE

Be smart with your smart phone. Don't let your phone destroy your home or rob your spouse of your attention
