Jesus Christ demonstrated that greatness is found in humble service rather than in seeking authority or recognition.

The Bible makes it clear that God empowers His children for service. Before Jesus ascended into heaven, He promised His disciples the gift of the Holy Spirit, who would strengthen and guide them in their mission. Acts 1:8 says, "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." This verse shows that God's power is given to believers so they can faithfully witness for Christ.

Power Comes from God:

All true power belongs to God. Human strength is limited, but God's power is unlimited and everlasting. He gives wisdom, courage, strength, and spiritual gifts to those who trust Him. The Apostle Paul reminds believers in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." This means that Christians depend on God's power to accomplish His purpose.

God does not give power so that people can boast or oppress others. Instead, He gives it so they can encourage, protect, and serve those in need. Christians are expected to use their talents and abilities responsibly for the glory of God.

Jesus Christ: The Perfect Example of Service:

Jesus Christ is the greatest example of using power for service. Although He is the Son of God and possessed all authority, He lived a humble life and served others. He healed the sick, fed the hungry, comforted the sorrowful, and forgave sinners.

One remarkable example of His humility is found in John 13:14–15, where Jesus washed His disciples' feet and said, "If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you." This teaches that no position is too high for serving others.

Jesus also declared in Mark 10:45, "For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many." His entire life was dedicated to serving humanity through love, sacrifice, and obedience to God.

Ways Christians Use Power for Service:

Christians are called to use God's power in many practical ways. They should preach the Gospel, pray for others, care for the poor, encourage the weak, visit the sick, forgive those who offend them, and promote peace in their communities. Service also includes honesty, kindness, generosity, and faithfulness in everyday life.

The Bible encourages believers to use their gifts for the benefit of others. 1 Peter 4:10 says, "As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." Every Christian has a unique gift that should be used to serve the Church and society.

Benefits of Using Power for Service:

When believers use God's power to serve others, they bring glory to God and become instruments of His love. Their service strengthens the Church, promotes unity, and inspires others to follow Christ. It also brings joy, peace, and spiritual growth to those who serve faithfully.

Furthermore, God rewards faithful servants. Jesus said in Matthew 5:16, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Good service reflects God's character and attracts others to Him.

Power for service is a divine gift that should be used with humility, love, and responsibility. God empowers His children through the Holy Spirit to serve others, spread the Gospel, and build His kingdom.
