  God is at work in the world and He wants us to join Him. This assignment is given by our Lord Jesus, when He says “Go ye therefore”. We called it “The Great Commission”. This is different from individual ministry. My ministry is my service to believers in the body of Christ while my mission is my service to unbelievers in the world. God created me for both.   Jesus clearly understood his mission on earth. At age 12 he said “I must be about my father’s business” and at age 33 when he was dying on the cross, he said “It is finished”. These two statements showed that he had completed the mission the father gave Him. The mission that Jesus had while on earth is now our mission since we are the body of Christ. What he did in his physical body we are to continue as his spiritual body (the Church).   The church, whether local assembly or the universal, is made of the regenerated Christians. It is founded on the truth – Christ Himself Jn 14:6. Thus, the congregation is supposed to be consisted of forgiven sinners who, in turn, are to take the gospel of salvation to sinners outside where they are. The membership is to reflect Christ, the truth: As a custodian of the truth, she must stand for the truth and give out the truth to mankind for the total redemption of man from the kingdom of darkness.   If therefore, the church is a reflection of Christ, this must be demonstrated in doctrine, principle and practice based on the Bible and in obeying the command of the Lord Jesus.
