Roles of Pastors' Wives in Pastoral Ministry

Image
Roles of Pastors’ Wives in Pastoral Ministry Introduction: In pastoral ministry, the wife of a pastor plays a strategic and supportive role that complements the calling of her husband. While she is not automatically a pastor by marriage, her influence, character, and service can greatly strengthen the ministry when rightly understood and biblically practiced. 1. Spiritual Supporter and Intercessor: The pastor’s wife stands as a pillar of prayer and spiritual encouragement. She upholds her husband in prayer, offers godly counsel, and helps maintain spiritual balance at home (Ecclesiastes 4:12). 2. Keeper of the Home and Family: A stable home is the foundation of an effective ministry. The pastor’s wife nurtures the home, raises the children in godly values, and ensures peace and order, which reflects positively on the church (1 Timothy 3:4–5). 3. Role Model to Women in the Church: Through her conduct, humility, modesty, and godly lifestyle, she becomes an example to other women in...

Jesus: The Prince of Peace

Image
TOPIC: JESUS: THE PRINCE OF PEACE  TEXT: Isaiah 9:6 INTRODUCTION As far as the members of the chosen generation are concerned, Jesus is the essence of our celebration and reason for our livelihood (Philippian 1:21, Act 17:28). He was not just a child born in the manger; He is also a son given by GOD to the world to save the dying world (John 3:16). His birth, growth and ministry are products of age long prophesy fulfilments.  These prophesies also revealed His names and pattern of destiny pathway (Matthew 1:21, Isaiah 9:6). The more we understand the revelation of his name(s), the more we strengthen our indicator for destiny fulfilment. His names: Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting father and prince of Peace ae our testimonies.   THE PRINCE OF PEACE: PRINCE: Son of the king, male child belonging to a royal family. Has authority of King and empowered to act likewise. Jesus’s royalty is deep and peculiar: He has a crown, palace/temple (I Corinthians 3...

Power for Service

Image
Introduction: Power for service refers to the spiritual empowerment believers receive from God through the Holy Spirit—not for status or control, but to serve others, glorify God, and advance His purposes. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses…” (Acts 1:8). The Holy Spirit is understood as the third Person of the Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is God’s living presence at work in the world and in believers. Common ways the Holy Spirit is described in the Bible: a) Comforter / Helper – brings peace, guidance, and strength (John 14:26) b) Teacher – leads people into truth and understanding c) Conviction – makes people aware of sin and the need for God d) Empowerer – gives spiritual gifts and boldness to live our faith e) Sanctifier – helps believers grow in holiness and character f) Symbols often associated with the Holy Spirit include wind, fire, dove, and breath, all pointing to His life-giving and transforming ...

Getting Physical and Divine Support in Times Like This

Getting Physical and Divine Support in Times Like This There are seasons in life when strength feels thin—when the weight of uncertainty, loss, or exhaustion presses in from every side. In times like these, survival and healing are rarely meant to be carried alone. We need support on two vital levels: the physical and the divine. Physical support is often the most immediate and tangible form of care. It comes through people who listen without rushing to fix us, through practical help that eases daily burdens, and through tending to our own bodies—rest, nourishment, movement, and medical care when needed. Seeking help is not weakness; it is wisdom. Allowing others to stand with us reminds us that we are part of something larger than our pain. Divine support reaches deeper, touching the places no human hand can fully heal. It shows up in prayer, silence, scripture, meditation, or quiet trust—depending on how one connects with God. Divine support does not always remove hardship, but...
