  DEVELOPING A CULTURE OF DISCIPLESHIP IN MINISTRY  TEXT: MATTHEW 28:19-20 MARK 16:15-16  INTRODUCTION  This is a wake-up call and a lovely reminder for ministers to focus more on the very essence of our calling which is: *TO MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL NATIONS* (Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15-16).  It's time to shift from mere activities to intentional and local discipleship-making. Additionally, to invest in people by teaching them God's Word and empowering them to rise from disciples to disciplers, thereby spreading the Gospel globally.  The world needs authentic followers of Jesus, so let's rise to this challenge! THE ESSENCE OF DISCIPLESHIP The core essence of discipleship is following Jesus Christ and becoming like Him. It's about surrendering to His lordship, learning from His teachings, and living out His ways.   The Daily Disciples' Cross One of the greatest hindrances to our spiritual growth and witness is the quiet, cherished sin of taking offense and nursing bitterness. We cling to our grievances as justified, all while Christ’s command is utterly clear and undeniably costly: "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me" (Luke 9:23). This daily cross is not a metaphor for hardship; it is the instrument of execution for our most stubborn idols—chief among them, our precious "right" to be hurt, our sense of justice that demands others pay, and the bitter root that poisons our soul.   God is Your Strength When You Are Weary .. Life can leave us exhausted—physically drained, emotionally spent, and spiritually weary. In these moments, God does not scold our tired hearts; He invites us into His rest. *"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest"* (Matthew 11:28). This is not a conditional offer—it is a promise for all who feel the weight of the world upon their shoulders. Even the strongest faith can grow faint under prolonged strain. The prophet Isaiah reminds us, *"He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength"* (Isaiah 40:29). God does not ask us to pretend we're not tired. Instead, He meets us in our exhaustion and offers His supernatural strength.
